Level 3 restrictions hit league final

THE decision of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs to comply fully with the Government’s current Level 3 restrictions on amateur competition has resulted in the North Eastern Region cancelling its final of the White’s Agri autumn dressage league.

The league, which commenced in late August, had been run by three different clubs at Cheval’s Jordanstown grounds in Oldtown where the final, which had already been rescheduled from September 19th, was due to be hosted by the Castle Hill club tomorrow.

Any rider who competed at two legs of the series was eligible for a league prize but points from three all three rounds counted with a bonus point on offer for those who did compete at the shows on August 29th (hosted by Ashbrook) and September 6th (Kilronan) and 13th (Drynam).

The winning riders and their mounts in the Graded leagues are: Mullaghmore’s Lisa O’Gorman and Carrenrush Liberty Belle (Primary), Kilronan’s Ciara McGlynn and Roebuck Crest (Advanced Primary), Ard Lú’s Megan Bradshaw and Rockmarshall Diamond Oscar (Intermediate), Killossery’s Aoife Maguire and Pharos Hazy Cove (Advanced Intermediate), Castle Hill’s Lindsey Ilona Brady and Trigger Joe (Open) and Copperfield’s Jane Whitaker with Coppermine Belladonna (Advanced Open).

In the Walk/Trot league, the honours went to Ashbrook’s Mairead Dolan on Chubi Chekker, Ard Lú’s Grainne Bennett topped the Sportsmans A league with Cloneenagh Jacko, while the Sportsmans B league was won by Ashbrook’s Lisa O’Brien riding Wilderwood Chilled Porter.
