THE Irish Shows Association All Ireland finals are now in full swing and the latest title was decided at Roscommon last Saturday when the Murphy family and their Inisfree bloodlines won out again.

Eddie Murphy’s home-bred Inisfree Grey Maiden, shown by his daughter Martina, recently returned from Australia, won the All Ireland Irish Draught yearling filly final.

By the Charlestown family’s own Inisfree The Holy Grail and out of the Annaghdown Star dam Inisfree Grey Knave, she stayed top of Sharyn Alexander and John Walshe’s line up of the 18 fillies forward for this final, which is also part of Horse Sport Ireland’s showing series.

The champion reversed places with last year’s All Ireland filly foal champion at Ballinasloe: Louise Shaughnessy’s filly by another of the Murphy’s stallions, Tors Gentleman Farmer, with this grey standing in reserve place at Roscommon. Out of the Coolcronan Wood mare Crusheen Breeze, she moved up a place from her initial third place.

Also moving up a place to take third was Kenny and Wendy Bell’s Castleview Lady Georgina, by their own Tors Gentleman Farmer stallion, Castleview Inisfree Farmer and out of another Coolcronan Wood dam, Castleview Princess.

Vincent and Patricia Hennessy’s Creggan Emperor filly was picked as the best-turned-out.
