THE 69th annual Bannow & Rathangan Show takes place this year on Thursday, July 12th. The success of this flagship show over the years is down to the hundreds of voluntary workers and all the work that is done for months before show day. The show attracts around 20,000 people every year and it is a great family day out with lots to see and do.

The highlight event of the show and a spectacle well worth watching is the Galway Irish Crystal/Belleek China – Horse Sport Ireland three-year-old horse All-Ireland final with a prize fund of €6,000 presented by the Irish Shows Association in conjunction with the Bannow & Rathangan Show and Horse Sport Ireland, featuring finalists who have qualified at shows all over the country during the year. The final will start at 1.30pm. The winner will receive €800 and a Galway Irish Crystal Trophy and prizes go all the way down the line. The breeder of the Champion will also receive a piece of Galway Irish Crystal or Belleek China.

For the 23rd consecutive year, Pettitt’s Supermarkets in Wexford is continuing to support the show. Pettitt’s SuperValu sponsor the Pettitt’s Novice Show Jumping Championship with a prize fund of €2,500. This competition is for five and six-year-old horses and it attracts lots of local competitors making it an exciting class.
