CONGRATULATIONS to Commandant Sharon Crean, second in command at the Army Equitation School, who married John McGinley in Dublin last Saturday, November 22nd.

Comdt Crean told Pony Tales that, having met in Dublin, it was the obvious choice of location to celebrate their wedding. The ceremony was held in City Hall, which provided a beautiful backdrop for the photographs with family and friends. The city wedding theme then continued with a drinks reception in Neary’s bar on Chatham Street, just off Grafton Street.

The newlyweds were transported around the streets of Dublin in a horse-drawn carriage, owned and driven by Private Darren Cummins (aka Farmer), a long-serving member of the Equitation School.

The wedding of Comdt Sharon Crean and John McGinley took place recently at City Hall followed by a reception in the Officers’ Mess at McKee Barracks. It was then back to McKee Barracks for dinner and dancing in the Officers’ Mess. Horses managed to make another appearance when the bride and groom were surprised by a mounted escort on arrival at the Mess, commanded by Corporal Barry Kehoe and the mounted escorts were Private Elena Sheehy and Private Holly Kenny. A wonderful night was had by all.

Pony Tales wishes Comdt Crean and John best wishes for the future.
