IT is safe to say that Judy Reynolds’ Vancouver K, better known as JP, was Ireland’s most popular, well-known and successful dressage horse over the past decade and now he has arrived in Kildare to live out the rest of his retirement on the farm owned by Judy’s parents, Joe and Kathleen.
Sharing a picture of him leaving her German yard and subsequently arriving in Kildare, Judy said that although he has been retired since 2021, he “has finally made the move to ‘proper retirement’ and will spend his days enjoying the green, green grass of home.”
Judy and her husband Patrick often shared updates of their Olympic star and she added that “after 18 years of being together almost daily we miss him dearly, but we always try to make decisions that are best for our furry friends.”
JP still holds all three Irish records in Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Freestyle. They were the first Irish combination to qualify for an Olympic final at Rio in 2016 and they finished fourth in the World Cup final in 2017 and fifth individually at the 2019 FEI European Championships in Rotterdam.
