CONGRATULATIONS to the Irish Horse Board Director General Alison Corbally who has completed her PhD in Agriculture and last week received approval from UCD’s Academic Council, “a moment that marks the culmination of many years of research, perseverance, and passion.”
Alison’s research explored the genetic and economic components of the sport horse industry, bringing together her longstanding interests in equine breeding, genetics, and agricultural economics. “To anyone pursuing a PhD while working full-time, stay the course. It has been a journey of long evenings, early mornings, and many challenges, but ultimately one filled with learning, growth, and deep satisfaction.
“The experience shapes you in ways you don’t expect, and the reward is truly worth it,” she said, adding that she looks forward to seeing how the research can contribute to the future of the equine industry.
