A GREAT two days of showing took place at Greenogue Equestrian during the Flexi Equine Show of the East, with strong entries and a high standard of competition across both days.

Saturday morning got underway with the ridden classes in the Emerald Stride Equestrian main arena, judged by Aimee Stunt and Rhianon Loader. A total of 23 classes were held, with quality combinations throughout. The Reserve Supreme Champion came from the ridden section, going to Rachel Flynn’s All for Show, ridden by her daughter Aoife Flynn. Also from the ridden ring, Sophie Cusack took Second Reserve with Tiger Eye.

The overall Equine International Shipping Supreme Champion, however, came from the Duggan Brothers Working Hunter arena. Judged by Victoria Clarke and American judge Kate Little, the winner emerged from the 1m class. Jessica Murphy and her consistent partner Darcy de Chanteloube first secured Reserve Working Hunter Champion before returning to take the overall Supreme title. It marked a strong return for the gelding, who was having his first outing since the Dublin Horse Show, and notably, the pair also claimed the title in 2024.

Sunday saw the return of the pony classes and proved to be an even busier day. Judges worked efficiently through large entries, with a particularly high standard across the board. The Equine Viewer Ireland Supreme Championship was awarded to Sadhbh O’Connor, who won the Intermediate Show Hunter class aboard Griffinstown. After finishing as Reserve Supreme for the previous two years, it was a well-deserved win. Chloe Lacey took Reserve Supreme with her novice Connemara Ballylee Lemon, having already secured both the Champion Novice and Champion Ridden Connemara titles. Aoife Brennan stood Second Reserve Supreme after a successful day that saw her take the Working Hunter Championship, along with Reserve Show Hunter Champion.

Organisers extended their thanks to all sponsors, judges, stewards, staff and competitors for their support over the weekend, as well as to Greenogue Equestrian for the use of their excellent facilities. Overall, the show proved to be a very successful and enjoyable event, with plenty of strong performances and a great atmosphere throughout.
