Supporting the high profile CCI3*-L and CCI4*-L classes is a perfect way for our brand to champion Irish eventing and contribute to the growth of this incredible sport. We look forward to an exciting weekend of competition at the prestigious Co Cork venue.”

Desi Graham RIP

STALWART supporter of Eventing Ireland’s Northern Region and its predecessor, the Irish Horse Trials Society, Desi Graham died last week.

A familiar face at Northern Region events, Desi was the organiser of the roads and tracks phase at the Necarne International, and he also fence judged at Tattersalls International for the duration of its existence. This year was the first in the 23-year history of the Tyrella two-phase competition that Desi was unable to fulfil his role as cross-country starter, due to declining health.

Dora Beacom of Eventing Ireland’s Northern Region said: “Desi was a true gentleman with a heart of gold, and was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. He was fastidious in everything he did and his passing leaves a void in the Northern Region team.

“However, we are blessed with a legacy of happy memories. We send our sincere condolences to his wife, Eunice, his sister-in-law Betty and their entire family circle.”

The following day, Treo Eile will host a ‘From track to three-phase eventing Eventing Masterclass’ at Goresbridge, where international event riders Sam Watson and Nicky Roncoroni will join MC Joanne Quirke to offer their insight and advice on how to offer ex-racehorses a second career in sport.

The day will include a tour of Connolly’s Red Mills and a panel discussion with riders and experts on equine nutrition from Connolly’s and Foran Equine. More information about both initiatives can be found on the Treo Eile website.
