THE Final of the Equipe SJI Pony Spring Tour took place in Mullingar last weekend, where sunshine set the stage for a thrilling day of sport. In the 128cm U10 category, Harry Kelly and Ashwey El Britaniko maintained their lead to claim the overall champion’s title.

Liam Fitzgerald delivered a strong performance to secure both second place and third reserve.

The 128cm one-star championship saw Mairead Kate Barry and Marble Arch take top honours, following a series of consistently excellent results throughout the league.

The competitive 128cm two-star final featured 50 entries, with Julia Sheehan and Heartbeak Charlie clinching victory by just half a second ahead of Harvey Oscar Foley. The win secured the overall champion’s title for Julia.

In the 138cm one-star final Abbey Murphy and Kiltiernan Bob delivered a flawless performance to win the class and become the overall champions. Millie Draper and Glenmore Acrobatique finished second.

It was a day of dreams for Lucia Keane, who delivered an exceptional performance in the 138cm two-star final to claim the overall champion title with Knud Van Orchid’s as well as the reserve spot with Alto de Fougnard.

Keane continued her run of form by taking the 148cm two-star title with Clonbrock Against the Odds. Zara Sharkey claimed the 148cm one-star equivalent with Jubilee de Nev.

The COH/Junior title was a tightly fought contest, with Dawn Ladd Finn edging ahead of Eloise Trainor to take the title of overall champion. Pictures of the event can be seen on the picture desk on page 102.
