SHOWJUMPING Ireland has announced significant new developments to the SJI Live app, in collaboration with the RDS and IT partners Margin Business Solutions and D2i Systems. These enhancements are designed to strengthen eligibility compliance, streamline competition entry processes and ensure fairness and transparency across all levels of competition.

Under the updated system, the SJI Live app will now automatically verify that all competitors meet minimum eligibility requirements before entries are accepted. This includes:

• Pony Riders: Mandatory verification of correct Bar Examinations prior to entry eligibility,

• All Classes: Enforcement of minimum points requirements, with the system preventing entries that do not meet the criteria, and

• Eligibility Controls: Verification of minimum age criteria for competitors, while also ensuring that all animals are of the correct age for their respective classes.

As part of these upgrades, all competitors who are successful in their respective qualifiers will receive a dynamic ‘Golden Ticket’ generated within the app, once the office has confirmed they are officially qualified. In addition, all qualified combinations will now be tagged in all start lists as the qualifiers progress.

A new streamlined entry process for the RDS Dublin Horse Show competitions has also been introduced, simplifying submissions and improving the overall user experience for competitors targeting the prestigious annual event. This advancement represents a major step forward in maintaining competition standards and reducing administrative oversight, ensuring that only qualified combinations are entered in relevant classes.

Commenting on the new developments, Pat Hanly, CEO of ShowJumping Ireland, said: “These enhancements to the SJI Live App represent a significant step forward for our sport. By strengthening eligibility checks for the Dublin Horse Show entry process, we are ensuring greater transparency, fairness, and efficiency for all our members. We would strongly encourage all competitors to attend the upcoming webinar to fully understand how these changes will benefit them.”

RDS Dublin Horse Show Director, Fiona Sheridan, commented: “Our collaboration with ShowJumping Ireland on the advancement of SJI Live and the Dublin Horse Show online entry system reflects a shared commitment to simplifying and streamlining the competitor experience, whilst ensuring all eligibility criteria and standards are being met. It will provide an efficient, fair, and accurate approach to managing entries, making life easier for all stakeholders.”

SJI members with horses who have accumulated points abroad are strongly advised to ensure these foreign points are transferred as soon as possible, as unverified records may affect eligibility under the new system.

To support members in adapting to these updates, ShowJumping Ireland will host an informative webinar on Thursday, April 23rd, and an official email invitation with joining details will be issued to all members in advance of this. For further information, members are encouraged to attend the webinar or contact ShowJumping Ireland directly.
