MAEVE Deverell is The Irish Field Gain Equine Nutrition Star of the Month for January. The Annaharvey Farm-based rider completed a ‘double double’ at the first Dressage Ireland-affiliated show of 2026, when she was first and second in both FEI junior tests with Annaharvey Dunowen and Annaharvey Firefly, the latter of whom was also named Eventing Ireland Youth Committee’s Event Horse of the Year for 2025 and has the distinction of being placed internationally in both dressage and eventing.

IPC Coaches’ Training Day

THE Irish Pony Club will hold its National Coaches’ Training Day at Mullingar Equestrian Centre on Sunday, March 8th. It will be hosted by former HSI High Performance Manager for eventing, Sally Corscadden, and the cost of attendance is €30. Tom Wachman won Thursday’s $32,000 CSIO4* Adequan WEF Challenge Cup Week 8 on board Obora’s Laura \ Sportfot

Wachman starts with a win

TOM Wachman began Wellington Nations Cup week with a win, when he and Obora’s Laura were the fastest combination in Thursday’s one-round $32,000 CSIO4* Adequan WEF Challenge Cup Week 8, which was a qualifier for Sunday’s Grand Prix. Darragh Kenny also made the podium for a second week in a row, finishing less than a second behind Wachman in second place on Colibelle Hero Z. Wachman has been selected for Jessica Kurten’s FEI Nations Cup team, which will compete on Saturday night, and full coverage from the Winter Equestrian Festival will follow next week.

SJI clarifies settlement details

SHOW Jumping Ireland has moved to clarify details of a report by The Irish Times on Thursday past, which suggested that the organisation had agreed to contribute legal costs following the settlement through mediation of a conflict between the board of SJI and its chairman Des McFadden and three other directors. CEO of SJI Pat Hanly stated that “The Irish Times did not contact SJI for comment or clarification before publishing this article. SJI confirms that, in accordance with standard corporate governance, this matter was notified to SJI’s insurers under their Directors and Officers policy when proceedings were initiated. The proceedings were managed by the Company’s insurers and SJI confirms that no member fees were paid towards Third Party legal costs.”
