AHEAD of the final qualifier for the Gallagher Dublin Horse Show, which will take place at Rincoola, Co Longford next Tuesday (June 30th), the Young Eventhorse Series (YES) team have published the current league standings for each of the three sections. Ciara Kinsella has established a strong lead in the four-year-old division as the only rider to have notched up two wins with Tykillen Dancer (Udancer Hero x Crosstown Dancer), ahead of John Tilley and Tailor Made KK (Cornet Son x Ice Man). Alice Copithorne and Castleview Lady Cruise (Oldtown KC x Duke of Marmalade) share the lead in the five-year-old league with Steven Smith and Laganside (Lagans OBOS Quality x Beowulf), while Kate Horgan and Highview Shakespeare (Lagans OBOS Quality x Coevers Diamond Lad) currently sit at the top of the junior and young rider event horse league by a wide margin.

The stated goal of YES is the pursuit of excellence in the identification, production and promotion of Irish-bred horses, who might contribute to the further success of the Irish Sport Horse internationally in the sport of eventing. The format of the series is intended to develop the natural talents and skill of Irish horses and riders, through being specifically designed to be educational and testing in a constructive and progressive manner.

This year, YES has been awarded funding under the 2026 Breeding Grant Scheme, funded by the DAFM and administered by Horse Sport Ireland, to the benefit of owners, riders and breeders. To be eligible to compete in the series, horses must be Irish-bred and registered in a recognised studbook with recorded pedigrees, and breeders’ prizes will only be paid to breeders residing in Ireland.
