IRISH championship dressage rider Alex Baker is moving back to the UK after spending over two years riding at Helgstrand Dressage in Denmark.

“I am moving back to the UK to be head rider at Newton Stud,” Alex told Irish Horse World this week. “They have some exciting horses and I’m looking forward to the future with them. I have loved living abroad and I have learnt a lot from the whole experience. I was not looking for anything but I got offered this great opportunity. So it’s worth a shot!”

Alex lined out for Ireland at the 2022 World Championships in Herning with Dutchman. This year, she has come back out at international level and finished fourth twice at CSI1* Intermediate and Prix St Georges with Elverhojs Polka Royal in Denmark.

The 29-year-old was born in the Channel Islands to an Irish mother and worked previously for Anna Ross at Elite Dressage as a rider and trainer.
