“I went jumping in Cavan just before the Ballindenisk International last September and this mare caught my eye in one of the five-year-old classes,” reported Power. “She’s going back to Tyrella on Saturday [today] for another pre-novice but we won’t be long stepping her up a level.

“She’s a stunning mare with a super jump (has 56 SJI points). She was green as grass about things on Saturday but that was understandable as it was her first event. She could be one for Le Lion d’Angers.”

Bred, as her name would suggest, by Ronnie Hollinger and by his Drumhowan Stud-based stallion S Creevagh Ferro, Power’s winner is the only foal out of the Belgian Warmblood Vendetta d’Aulne (by Quintus) that Hollinger bought in England.

“Unfortunately the dam died from colic when Creevagh Miss Ferro was six weeks old,” said Hollinger, who also bred Slieveanorra, runner-up in the Grand Prix at Wellington, Florida on Sunday.

The Dutch Warmblood sire S Creevagh Ferro recorded a double of his own at Tyrella as he is sire of Cleo Ferro, winner of the CNCJ* under Power’s cousin, Lucy Latta.
