The eight-year-old Jupilot gelding, who is heading to Tattersalls, was bringing up a hat-trick of junior one-star wins for owner Yvonne Latta, having also been successful at Lisgarvan House (1) and at Tyrella (3) earlier last month.

Latta had 2.5 penalty points in hand over Matthew Hanrahan and his Westfalian gelding Pilots Pleasure while Cathal Daniels, who finished third here on Kilrodan Dealmaker, posted a runaway success in the junior C with Callatra Lilly.

Athlone’s Emma Kennedy recorded a narrow victory in the CNCP** with the Connemara gelding Laburnum Ineer, whose total of 40.6 included 1.6 cross-country time penalties. Having travelled south from Downpatrick for the event, Fionn Clarke was narrowly beaten into second when completing on a dressage score of 41 with Knockroe Little Mike who, like the winner, is Tattersalls bound.

Maynooth’s Hannah Adams led from start to finish to claim the Hyde Equine CNCP* with her father Michael’s 10-year-old chesnut gelding Toberpatrick Flash. On her second start under Eventing Ireland rules, Mimi O’Grady, daughter of Tipperary trainer Edward, won the Pony C with the 10-year-old skewbald gelding Doonkinane Splash.

Hope O’Dwyer had finished fourth on her first EI start at Lisgarvan House (1) and improved to place second in the intro class on Sunday, 0.5 of a penalty point behind the vastly more experienced Heidi Hamilton.

The latter was on board the seven-year-old Carraig Thunder gelding Thy Will Be Dun, who is out of a Paris Lights mare, while 14-year-old O’Dwyer was riding the 13-year-old skewbald gelding Cut Above.

Hope’s mother Claire was also competing on Sunday and she too finished second, for the second week running, in the Old Ground Hotel EI 100 class on her ex-racehorse Are You Free.

Claire is working on her fitness by training with husband Ronan for the joint Drumree/Dunshaughlin GAA clubs’ Strictly Come Dancing, which takes place next Saturday in the Knightsbrook Hotel.
