NINE of the 10 Irish Olympic eventing contenders will compete at the inaugural Event Rider Master Series at Chatsworth in Britain this weekend.

Aoife Clark, Cathal Daniels, Jayne Doherty, Nicola Ennis, Sarah Ennis, Jonty Evans, Tony Kennedy, Mark Kyle, Padraig McCarthy, Joseph Murphy, Austin O’Connor, Elizabeth Power, Michael and Patricia Ryan and Sam Watson are all headed to Chatsworth and Galway rider Daniels is the first rider to compete in the Masters Series.

Chatsworth has been identified as an important event for Olympic selection by Irish team manager Nick Turner.

The Event Rider Master Series is a new concept aimed at showcasing eventing to global audiences. Offering increased prize money for riders it is linked to three-star British events. Each leg is limited to 40 riders, based on world rankings. Ten Irish combinations have qualified for the first leg at Chatsworth which will start on Saturday.
