SUSIE Berry won the Intermediate section M at last weekend’s Fairfax and Favor Rockingham Castle International Horse Trials. Riding Nick and Helen Caton's John The Bull, a former ride of Jonty Evans, Berry won on a score of 28.7.

Despite an error in the course in dressage, the eight-year-old Luidam-sired Irish Sport Horse gelding, who was bred in Co Westmeath by James Byrne, scored an excellent 25.9 to lie in third after that phase and added just 2.8 time penalties across the country to win the class.

Dressage leaders, Britain's Sarah Bullimore and Starbucks, finished runner-up on a score of 35.1 after picking up 11.2 cross-country time faults. New Zealand's Caroline Powell also picked up 12 time faults and had to settle for third place with the Irish-bred Shannondale Inca (Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan x Ricardo Z) on 36.6.

After her Event Rider Masters debut the previous weekend, Susie now heads to the Bramham International Horse Trials with Devenish Nutrition Limited's Stonedge and Nick and Helen Caton's Ringwood LB in the CCI4*L Under 25 Championships.

Elizabeth Power finsihed fourth in the Intermediate Section N aboard her home-bred Omar-sired eight-year-old Azure. She just added 4.8 cross-country time faults to a dressage score of 30.0 to finish on 34.8.
