KATIE O’Sullivan, who lives on the Wilding family’s estate, recorded a double at Rosanna last Sunday which she initiated in the EI110 (Open) on J’ Taime Cooley.

The seven-year-old J’ Taime Flamenco mare, who is a half-sister to Zigali P.S. (1.60m) among others, added 1.2 cross-country time penalties to her winning dressage score (24.5) on her way to a second success at the Co Wicklow venue.

J' Taime Cooley is among the entries in next week’s CCIYH2*-L at Tattersalls, the young horse class sponsored by her owner, Cooley Farm, whose Cooley Now Or Never brought up O’Sullivan’s double in Section A of the EI110.

This first success for the Ars Vivendi seven-year-old was impressive as, with the addition of 0.4 of a show jumping time penalty for a total of 20.4, he had nearly nine points in hand over the Sofie Walshe-ridden ex-racehorse, Herobrine.

A delighted Kim O’Gorman won Section B on her traditionally-bred palomino gelding Californian Wolf whose total of 35 included 3.2 cross-country time penalties. A seven-year-old by the Connemara stallion Crosskeys Rebel (sire of Portersize Just a Jiff), the winner was bred by Rita Moran out of the French-bred mare Tissaia who ran once in a bumper.

Win for Alderson

Daniel Alderson had five rides for Richard Ames on Sunday, their best result coming in the first leg of the Irish Sport Horse eventing series for six-year-olds which they won with the Womanizer gelding Derena Super Star who was having his third start at this level.

The grey, who was lying second after dressage (27), was left in the lead when the flat work winner, Woodendfarm Jack O D had a fence down show jumping. The latter’s rider, Ian Cassells, beat the clock on the final leg of this EI110 class but, in spite of Alderson’s mount picking up 1.6 time penalties over the fixed fences, he had enough in hand to win.

Cooley Farm struck again as owner in the EI100 but this time through Sam Watson who partnered the Emilion seven-year-old Cooley Baskin to a second successive success at this level. The bay mare completed on her dressage score (25.3) as the flat work winner, the Katie Nolan-ridden Be Serious Too, was two seconds over the time on the final leg for a total of 25.8. Cooley Baskin was bred near Dublin Airport by Sarah Carey.

On Sunday, most classes at EI100 level received welcome sponsorship from Donal O’Beirne of Hoofprints Innovations.
