KNOTTS Bakery is continuing its sponsorship of the young event horse championship at Balmoral Show for which the first qualifier takes place at The Meadows Equestrian Centre next Tuesday, April 4th.

Confined to Irish-bred four and five-year-olds, the series is designed to identify young horses who have the potential to become top-class eventers.

The company’s Andrew Getty, whose Carrick Cruiseon Diamond finished second in the four-year-old final last May under Emma Jackson, stated that Knotts are delighted to be involved once more with the championship.

“It is a class which continues gaining credibility in showcasing potential top-class eventers,” Getty commented.

“We are excited to continue our sponsorship and are looking forward to seeing quality entrants at the Show in May.”

Qualifiers will also be held on the following three Tuesdays at Gransha EC (April 11th), Ravensdale Lodge (April 18th) and Lusk EC (April 25th).

Full details regarding the dressage tests, rules, bits, etc can be found on the Balmoral website.

The finals take place over two days (May 11th and 12th) at the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society show.
