OWNER/breeders dominated the Fautras Horse Trailers EI100 classes last Saturday at Glaslough (2) where Rosie Alcorn followed up her fifth-place finish in the EI110 on Centre Fold Belle with victory in Section A on Chrysanthos who completed on the winning dressage score (30.8 penalties) he was awarded by Will McAuley.

Centre Fold Belle is an eight-year-old mare by Centre Stage out of Renkum Blathainn while Chrysanthos is a six-year-old Jaguar Mail gelding out of Renkum Blathainn’s 2004 Renkum Valentino daughter Fiorella (CCI2*). The last-named is a half-sister to, among others, the Jaywalker gelding Tyrella Love Song (CCI2*) and the VDL Ricochet gelding Rocco II (CCI4*-L).

Also completing on her first-phase score to finish second was Suzanne Hagan with the Judith Sossick-bred five-year-old Cobra gelding, Loughview Commander (31), another well-related sort. Based high up in Co Antrim like Alcorn, Alex Houston recorded a comfortable all-the-way success in Section B with the home-bred Atlantic Rockstar (21.3) who was making his fifth Eventing Ireland start and his third at this level. The six-year-old Beach Ball gelding is out of the Montekin mare Missey Elliott on whom Houston represented Ireland at the 2011 European Young Riders Championships.

Here, Hagan had to settle for third place on John Kehoe’s home-bred Watermill Swatch mare Killeshin Vintage Swatch (26.3) as Jenny Doran slotted into second with the nine-year-old Captain Clover gelding Horseplay Clover Star (25.8) who she herself bred out of the Puissance mare, Horseplay Jamboree.

The winners of the other Fautras Horse Trailers-sponsored EI100 classes were Jayne Moore, who was having her second start of the campaign with her 10-year-old High Roller mare Laylas Way (Amateur); first-season rider Erin McClernon with the 2011 chesnut gelding Sundance III (Pony); and, despite a fence down show jumping, Lucy McIlroy and the 11-year-old Imperial Hights gelding Major Black (Junior) who had also been on the mark at Kilguilkey earlier in the month.
