BERNEY Bros, the well known Kilcullen saddlery business, are to take over the sponsorship reins of the CCI* pony class at the Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair 2016. The well known saddlery has a long association with Tattersalls and has been supplying the equine industry since 1880. They are also the official leather suppliers for Team Ireland Equestrian. Tatteralls 2016 takes place from June 1st - 5th.

Event co-ordinator at Tattersalls, Amber Byrne, commented: “Berneys have a strong tradition within the equestrian world and we feel are a fantastic fit for this class. We are looking forward to working with them on the 2016 event.”

Co-owner of Berney Bros, Tom Berney, said: “Berney Bros are delighted to come on board. We have a wealth of talent among our underage riders which can be seen from their international successes over the last few years. Berney Bros are glad to support these stars of the future.”

SUPERLEAGUE

Meanwhile Eventing Ireland confirmed Connolly’s Red Mills will continue to sponsor the prestigious SuperLeague in 2016, for the seventh successsive year.

This year will see a slight change in the way the SuperLeague is run as the final leg will conclude at the Eventing Ireland National Championships being held at Tattersalls from August 12th-14th.

There are seven legs in total consisting of four x O/CNC** and three x A/CNC** classes taking place across the country with Rosanna kicking off the SuperLeague on March 13th. Points are, as usual, doubled for the A/CNC** classes.

Nikki Wallace from Connolly’s Red Mills said: “It is an important fixture for us to reach the eventing community. Our range of competition horse feeds are specifically designed for performance. We are looking forward to the season ahead and wish all competitors the very best of luck!”.

Eventing Ireland chairman David O’Meara said: “We look forward to our top combinations competing in these classes, particularly on the build up to the Olympics.”
