SIX Riding for the Disabled Association Ireland (RDAI) riders from Cork, Galway, Meath, Westmeath and Wicklow had the time of their lives demonstrating their riding skills at the Dublin Horse Show on Saturday, August 10th.

They ranged in age from six to 70 plus and each of them had practiced hard to perfect the skills they demonstrated on the day. This was a very special day for all the riders, their families and the RDAI volunteers, many of whom travelled long distances with a very early start.

The RDAI extended their gratitude to the President of the RDS for continuing to make them feel so welcome every year, and for providing members with a room that offered a calm and safe environment where they could congregate before and after the event.

This year, the display ride was dedicated to the memory of former RDAI president Elizabeth Gordon, who sadly passed away in February. She attended every year and was a huge supporter of the riders chosen from different groups each year. Her presence was sorely missed last week.

Five of the riders and their families were thrilled to attend a breakfast with Team Ireland show jumper on Tuesday morning before the show started, a special moment for the members.
