A RECORD price was set at the 2014 PSI Auction in Ankum, Germany, last Sunday when the seven-year old Australian bred Hanoverian SPH Dante became the best selling warmblood ever sold at an auction when knocked down for €2,800,000.
In doing so, SPH Dante (by Welfenadel x Dormello) became the most expensive auction horse in the 35-year history of Performance Sales International when bought by Russian duo Elena and Sergej Knyaginichev.
The Russian couple also own the World Young Horse Champion and PSI auction horse Sa Coeur (sold for €2.3 million euro) as well as the PSI auction horses Bluetooth (€1 million) and Der Designer (€1.1 million).
The eight-year-old mare Toulonia (by Toulon x Balou du Rouet) was the best selling show jumper, selling for €1.1 million to the United States.
The new price record of €2.8 million and overall revenue of €16.43 million are proof that Paul Schockemöhle’s sales venue is at the top of the market. At last weekend’s sale horses were sold at an average of €322,412 with a total of €8.68 million paid for the dressage horses and €7.76 million for the show jumpers by customers all over the world.
