THE quality of sport horse foal pedigrees has changed dramatically over the past decade and, as a result, next week’s breeding stock sale at Goresbridge has quite a different appearance. The content of the two-day renewal is now predominantly bred on European lines, with well-related blacktype foals easily outnumbering those with more traditional breeding.

This variation offers buyers a wider choice of options however, and next week’s catalogue is both stout and diverse.

The list of covering sires is equally so, with Lagans OBOS Quality (10) appearing on top, just ahead of newcomers Button Sitte, Grand Cru, VD VIJF Eiken and Sligo Candy Boy - all with nine apiece.

Running over Friday and Saturday, the preview of stock below is just an example of the many attractive lots on offer.
