FIRMLY established as the venue’s flagship sale, the latest renewal of Cavan’s Elite Foal sale will take place next Thursday evening. Staged during the indoor championships, the catalogue of 30 blacktype foals looks as tempting as ever, with both the sire and the dam’s lines appearing truly world class.
Immediate relations of champions such as James Kann Cruz and Kilkenny stand out and, while each lot is briefly previewed below, the full pedigrees are detailed in the catalogue together with videos and photographs. This is also available online where, through the same platform, bidders can bid remotely.
Colts
Lot 1 reg ch c f by Zirocco Blue out of Leestone Key To Cruising (Cruising). Featuring Cruising as the dam’s sire, this colt is out of a sister to Leestone Mylord Trumps (1.55m), as well as to the Captain Michael Kelly-ridden Mullentine Loughgall (1.50m). Also, to Mullentine Crosskeys, who is the dam of Mullentine Shalom (1.55m).
Lot 2 Creevyquinn Spirit, reg b c f by Comme Il Faut out of Inea VDL (Tinka’s Boy). Hailing from a young pedigree, this colt is a sibling to the seven-year-old Creevyquinn Thunder and Creevyquinn Amber (Paddy Reape). The dam meanwhile is a sister to the 1.45m campaigner Amzes, as well as to Elinea VDL (1.40m).
Lot 3 Rockman So, reg bl c f by Cornet Obolensky out of Caramelle KLT (Cardento). Sporting a top-class dual-purpose pedigree, this colt is out of Danielle Farnsworth’s big winner Caramelle KLT (1.60m), who is a sibling to Guldet, dam of the CCI5* event horse Carryon Bobby Boy, ridden by Julia Norman. Also from the immediate family of the Olympic event horse Box Leo (CCI5*).
Lot 5 CRF Conteggio, b c f by Count On Me Z out of Clodette Della Caccia (Quick Star). Dam competed to 1.30m level under Olive Clarke, and was a half-sister to numerous blacktype performers including Quarisma Della Caccia (1.60m), ridden by Bertram Allen, as well as Chopin Della Caccia (1.50m).
Lot 7 Cushlas, reg ch c f by Ermitage Kalone out of Verona Van Het Aegroschot (Vagabond de la Pomme). From the family of the renowned Taloubet Z (1.60m), this colt is out of a sibling to Latoya VH Aegroschot (1.30m), while the second dam Maxima VH Aegroschot competed to 1.35m under Meryl Jonckers.
Lot 8 Unnamed, reg ch c f by Comme Il Faut Plus Z out of Alezie Z (Accardi). Dam competed at 1.35m and was a half-sibling to Gwendoline Van’t Russelthof (1.45m) and another two performers at 1.35m level.
Lot 11 Rosario LR, reg b c f by Bacardi VDL out of Leggettsrath Cover Girl (Cornet Obolensky). Featuring the great Cornet Obolensky as the dam sire, this colt is out of a half-sister to several 1.45m campaigners, among which are the French-ridden Gaviotta Pommex and Cinnamon Pommex. The third dam was the useful Usha Van’t Roosakker, who competed at 1.50m under Gilbert de Rock.
Lot 12 CSF Travis, reg b c f by Tangelo Van de Zuuthoeve out of CSF Princess Ida (Ars Vivendi). From a current performance family, this colt is a sibling to the American-ridden jumper CSF Princess Blue (1.45m), as well as to Irish campaigners CSF Kilrush (1.40m) and CSF Carrie (1.30m). Second dam is a full-sister to Quinten (1.60m), ridden by Robert Whitaker.
Lot 14 Tullibards Mr Frostie, reg gr c f by Comme Il Faut out of Cornetta (Cornet Obolensky). As the daughter of the vendor, Jennifer Kuehnle partnered the attractively-bred dam to 1.50m level and who is a sibling to Cayen Van Het Hobos (1.60m) and to Coldplay 34 (1.45m). The dam has already bred Kilbracken Cornet Queen (1.20m).
Lot 15 Creevyquinn Noble, reg b c f by Kannan out of Drumiller Digital (Clinton). This well-bred colt carries a smart contemporary pedigree, being a half-sibling to the Brazilian-ridden Legaland Sandro (1.60m), Blueoak Legaland (1.40m) and Thomascourt Legaland Louis (1.30m).
Lot 16 Lorenzo 1 DSH, reg b c f by Ermitage Kalone out of Hollystown Miss Lupin (Lux Z). An attractive pedigree, the dam competed to 1.40m with Gerard Clarke, who also rode her half-sister Lupins Lux Z (1.60m) and King Lupin (1.50m).
Lot 17 Berkleys Touch of Sol, reg b c f by United Touch S out of Solara (Come On). One of the standouts, this smartly-bred colt is already a sibling to the Eric Lamaze-ridden Chacco Kid (1.60m), as well as to Fiona (1.30m). Adding extra appeal, the dam is a sister to LV Celebracion (1.60m), Charmeur 332 (1.50m) and Carnida Z (1.40m).

As well as to Indigo (1.45m) and Nadal Van’t Ashbroek (1.40m). Dam is a half-sister to Chester Z (1.60m), Chester 11 Z (1.45m), Clinta Z (1.40m) and several others of note.
Lot 21 DBF Mufasa, reg ch c f by Ermitage Kalone out of DBF Belvedere (Vigo d’Arsouilles). Hailing from a stout pedigree, the dam counts the Mikey Pender-ridden HHS Calais (1.65m) as a sibling, as well as MHS Fernhill Showtime (1.60m), ridden by Duarte Seabra. From the immediate family of Two Mills Showtime (1.60m) and Splendido (1.60m).
Lot 23 Ard Blue Chip, reg b c f by Diamant de Semilly out of Arabella (Argentinus). The illustriously-bred dam competed to 1.40m under the breeder’s son, Conan Wright. She has already bred Ard Blue Ray (1.20m) and Ard Gang Star (1.15m) and, being out of Nick Skelton’s Olympic performer Showtime (1.60m), is a sibling to Blue Movie (1.60m) etc.
Lot 25 Berkleys Apollo, reg b c f by Conthargos out of Arera C (Indoctro). The Netherlands-based dam competed to 1.60m and is a half-sister to Camelia C (1.30m). The third dam also jumped to 1.30m and is the dam of Drops Van Overis (1.45m) and Usha Van Overis Z (1.40m).
Lot 27 Creevyquinn Triumph, reg b c f by Casall out of Boraya VDL (Argentinus). From an improving family, this colt is a brother to Creevyquinn Poseur (1.45m) now ridden in America by Sara Vanfleet, as well as to the eight-year-old FF Uno Tinus (1.40m). From a previous sale-topping vendor and an obvious catalogue pick, this filly is out of a half-sister to the Irish Tokyo Olympian Kilkenny (1.60m), to BP Lion Man (1.50m) and is a full-sister to FF Knockroe Lady (1.30m). From the instantly recognisable maternal line of fellow Olympian, Going Global.
Lot 10 Unnamed, reg b f f by Emerald out of Cahmira (For Fashion). From a stout family, the dam is a half-sister to Rekordia (1.45m) and Cowboy 39 (1.40m). The second dam Serona, is a sibling to Cashmira (1.60m) and Cora 407 (1.40m).
Lot 13 Rock Me Kannan RF, reg b f f by Kannan out of High Jump (Casall). Dam is a sibling to the German-based Levis (1.60m), Carry’s Son (1.60m), and Casino 40 (1.45m), while the second dam Karolaina is a half-sister to Chanel M (1.60m).
Lot 19 Unnamed, reg gr f f by Zirocco Blue out of Diamonds For Douglas (ARD VDL Douglas). This home-grown pedigree features a filly out of the Joan Greene and Alex Butler-ridden 1.50m mare Diamonds For Douglas, who is sister to Tick Tock Tina (1.50m). Lot 24 Unnamed, reg gr f f by Caracas out of Its A Pracht VDL (Zirocco Blue). Dam competed to 1.30m and is out of the good mare Pracht S (1.50m), ridden by Helen McNaught. There are numerous other blacktype performers featuring in the pedigree, among which is the Jerome Dubbeldam-partnered Eldorado S (1.60m) and Faquitol S (1.60m).
Lot 26 Unnamed, reg ch f f by Emerald out of Biscaya d’Eversem (Sheyenne de Baugy). A sibling to the €36,000 and €28,000 sale toppers in 2022 and 2024, connections of this filly will be hoping for a three-timer. The dam (1.60m) was a top performer under Joan Greene and has already bred Full Speed D’Eversem (1.35m). As a full sister to the dam, Capacity D’Eversem competed to 1.60m, while the second dam Vienna d’Eversem jumped to 1.60m with Keean White (CAN).
