ON the back of a lively seasonal opener, the team at Cavan return to sales’ action next week with a one-day renewal on Thursday.

Running later than the 2024 equivalent, the edition offers a broad entry which is notable for the inclusion of several graded performers. Selling under the ‘Premier’ banner, these entries feature horses and ponies of special note, among which is the useful RDS winning Children on Horses campaigner Winsome Z, as well as two grade A jumping ponies.

The younger horses also boast some stout damlines with a Caricello-sired filly standing out as a close relation to the Nations Cup performer Castlefield Vegas.

The stallion list is diverse but, as he did in February, Padraig Howley’s ever-commercial Sligo Candy Boy remains the heavy-hitter with five lots forward. Also prominent is the Coolballyshan Stud’s Vivant de Heffinck (4), while Beach Ball, Carrick Quidam du Revel, Conticco, Cormint, Rosier, Sandro K and VDL Arkansas have two apiece.
