AS Cavan’s flagship sale, next week’s catalogue of Elite foals does not disappoint. Staged during the indoor championships, the breeding of the 30 foals on offer looks as stout as ever, with blacktype pedigrees appearing with regularity.
Featuring prominently are siblings to Thomascourt Atlantis (1.60m), Gemma W (1.60m), Chento (1.50m), Josephina Z (1.50m), Emeraude Pommex Z (1.50m) and JCS Chacco Dia (1.60m), while the covering stallions include United Touch, Cornet Obolensky and Emerald among others.

Featuring a dual-purpose pedigree, this colt is a sibling to international event horses Cooley Cross Border (CCI4*) and Midnight Rollercoaster (CCI5*), as well as to the jumper Fernhill Pilot (1.40m). Adding the real show jumping blacktype, the second dam Cape May bred Royal Anthem (1.55m) and HHS Automatic (1.50m) and is from the family of Royal Athlete etc.

Lot 5 Waikato TSH, reg ch c f by Cocktail de Talma out of Britt W (AD Unaniem). Well-related by the Neil Fearon-ridden stallion Cocktail de Talma (1.60m), this colt is a sibling to Gemma W (1.60m) and Bjurfors Nikora (1.45m). Dam is a sister to Floyd W (1.45m) and Important Style VK (1.50m).
Lot 7 Crosskeys, reg b c f by Casallco out of Thomascourt Senna (Mermus R). Out of a 1.40m jumping mare, who is a half-sister to the good event horse Ardeo Premier (CCI5*), ridden by Alexander Bragg. From the family of Brigade CS (1.60m) and the Gemma Phelan-partnered Coolisheal Lance (1.50m).
Lot 8 Unnamed, b c f by Kannan out of Centaura (Cento). The dam, who competed to 1.55m under James Fisher, has bred Chento (1.50m), as well as Contento 23 (1.60m). From the family of Viva Pleasure PS (1.55m) and Cornettina (1.50m).
Lot 10 CSF Its A Boy, reg ch c f by Pegase Van’t Ruytershof out of CSF Natasha (Carrera VDL). From a stout family, the dam is a half-sister to Sera Vue (1.40m), CSF Royal Cruz (1.45m) and CSF Mr Kroon (1.50m). From the family of Goodgraf (1.50m) and CSF Casco (1.45m).
Lot 11 Goya’s Pleasure, reg ch c f by For Pleasure out of MoM’s Goya (Kannan). Dam has bred Emeraude Pommex Z (1.50m), Coconut Pommez Z (1.40m) and Gaviotta Pommez CDL (1.45m). The dam hails from a very illustrious family being a sibling to the Ben Maher-ridden Cella (1.60m) and Happy Vandor Van’t Roosakker (1.60m) etc.
Lot 12 Leestone Waikiki, reg ch c f by Emerald out of Waikiki VD Berghoeve (Catoki). Dam is a sister to Sterrehof’s Ushi (1.60m), who has produced Goliath S (1.45m). The third dam competed to 1.60m and has bred the popular sire Querlybet Hero (1.60m) and Boyante de Muze (1.60m).

From an improving family, this colt is a brother to Creevyquinn Poseur (1.45m), ridden in America by Sara Vanfleet, as well as to FF Uno Tinus (1.40m). By last year’s sale-topping sire, this colt is out of Cassinja S (1.65m), who competed under American rider Charlie Jacobs. The second dam Cassina 39 also jumped to 1.50m and is a sister to Blue Boy 4 (1.40m).
Lot 30 Kilbrackan Reventon, reg b c f by Balou du Reventon out of Naelle Z (Nabab de Reve). A sibling to Cuba Libra (1.40m), as well as to Agabelle (1.30m). The third dam Ta Belle Van Sombeke jumped to 1.60m under Jos Lansink, who bred numerous blacktype performers including Pikap (1.60m) etc.
