THE sale action moves to Goresbridge next week where a four-day sport horse sale commences on Tuesday. Wrapping up a busy month at the venue, the renewal offers the usual cross section of older stock, as well as an attractive selection of potential performers.

Well-related pedigrees come thick and fast in the younger age groups and featuring are progeny from the families of the show jumpers Ballypatrick Mystique, Coppindell, Recuerdame, Westwinds Cirracruise and Mullentine Loughgall and the event horses BT Cloud Nine and My Royal Touch.

The Kedrah House Lux Z heads the stallion list with nine progeny forward but also prominent with eight apiece are the popular Emperor Augustus, Harlequin du Carel and OBOS Quality. Delivering a broader balance of bloodlines than in recent years, others to make an impact include Iroko (7) and Watermill Swatch (7) as well as the local representative Beowulf (6) and the late Ghareeb (6).

PONIES

Lot 4 Castle Miller, reg 12yo bl g 128cms by Ashfield Miller. One from the smallest height group is Castle Miller, a fully warranted schoolmaster with 36 SJI points. A versatile individual, he is the winner of many working hunter classes and headed the Carling King show jumping final as well as the Silver Spurs under 12 dressage finals.

Lot 6 Prince, reg 11yo gr g 13.2hh. This experienced grade A performer carries a career total of 280 SJI points in classes up to 1.10m level. Fully warranted in every way, he is only for sale as he is outgrown and thought suitable for a novice or a nervous child.

Lot 16 Douglas, reg 4yo gr g 14.2hh by Shadows Dun out of Glenisheen Lass by Tulira Roebuck. The pick of the younger ponies could be this Connemara gelding who has just embarked on his competitive career. Introduced to a range of activities, he has hunted with the Killinick Harriers, has attended Pony Club and placed fourth in his only intro event.

Lot 18 Mosses Rock, reg 6yo gr g 148cms by Inverin Rocky out of Eighter Lassie by Village King. Confidence-giving ponies are always in demand and one to catch the eye is this Connemara gelding with hunting form. Easy in every way, he is reliable on his own or in company and is fully warranted in all respects.

Lot 85 Sixmilewater Sunrise, reg 9yo gr g 16.3hh by WRS Sunrich out of Miss Bay Mare (Chevalier de Coupes). This smart gelding has clocked up 32 SJI points to date. Career wins include a 1.10m class at Cavan and the amateur derby at Maryville. He has also qualified for H.S.I Amateur finals for the past two years, as well as the 1.10m and 1.20m finals in Millstreet.

Lot 117 Enniskerry Sunny King, reg 9yo g 173cms by Sunny Boy out of KEC Galway Bay (Glidawn Diamond). The winner of 5 E.I points, Enniskerry Sunny King filled third place in the CNC* at Tattersalls. He has been placed in two training events at Killossery this year and has also hunted with the Bray Harriers.

Lot 121 Biscuit, reg 5yo b m 16.2hh by Harlequin du Carel out of Lisha (Renkum Englishman). Carrying a good record under E.I. rules, where she has been placed on four occasions, this mare has also show jumped up to 1.10m level. Very well-related, she is a full-sister to the advanced event horse The Max Factor and a half-sibling to the intermediate event horse Killags Touch of Class and the grade B show jumper Shylock Flight. Also from the direct maternal family of the show jumpers Coppindell and Ban du Carel.

Lot 193 Premier Rose, reg 7yo b m 16.3hh by Lux Z out of Rosy Cavalier (Cavalier Royale). This fully warranted mare has clocked up 48 SJI points to date, and has hunted with the South Westmeath hounds and the Streamstown Harriers. Hailing from a good family, she is a half-sister to the British-based three-star event horse My Royal Touch, and also the Italian ridden two-star campaigner Premier Clover Royale.

Lot 255 Aqua Blade, reg 6yo gr g 17.1hh by Power Blade out of Viewmount Day (Sir Rivie). Another straightforward performer, Aqua Blade has a career total of 24 SJI points, won in classes up to 1.20m. He was the winner of a Cavan Classic qualifier and was a regular on the major jumping circuit last year.

Lot 265 Lux Class, reg 6yo b g 168cms by Lux Z out of Ricardos Diamond (Ricardo Z). One of several notable entries by Lux Z, Lux Class carries 100 SJI points to date. He has successfully competed in the young rider ranks and was the winner of a 1.20m qualifier at the Millstreet international earlier this year.

Lot 273 BLS Grand Slam, reg 6yo b g 16.3hh by Furistos Diamond out of Ballylough Golden Imp (Master Imp). This gelding has been produced through the eventing ranks to attain three EI points. Carrying a good record, he moved up to CNC* level this year, performing double clear rounds at Crecora, Grove and Ballinamona. He has also show jumped to 1.20m level, and is considered a high class prospect for the future.

Lot 63, reg 5yo gr g 16.2hh by KEC Blue Diamond out of Tetrazini (Hubbly Bubbly). One of a number of versatile performers in the catalogue, this gelding has hunted with the Killinick Harriers. Guaranteed as an easy conveyance, he has also competed in event horse leagues and training shows. A good jumper, and capable over a big fence, he offers potential either as a competition horse or as a masters or hunt horse.

Lot 91 Deerpark Super Man, reg 8yo b g 15.1hh. This small performer has a wealth of competition form. Quiet in all respects, he has won 51 SJI points to date and was on the winning team at the National Inter Schools show jumping championship in 2014. He has hunted with The Island Foxhounds and thought suitable for any discipline.

Lot 104 Shutter Island, reg 7yo ch g 16.3hh by Oh Carols Rebel out of Bellair (Carrabawn View). This high class gelding was crowned champion ridden hunter at Moate agricultural show and placed in the working hunter class at the RDS. He has also competed in the young event horse series, show jumped to 1.10m level and hunted with the Killinick Harriers.

Lot 116 Nicoles Prize, reg 6yo b g 16.3hh by Heigh Ho Dubh out of Blackthorn Lady (Ballinvella). This traditionally bred proven hunter has followed the Conna Harriers every weekend for two full seasons. He has also hunted with West Waterford and United Foxhounds and will go first or last.

FOUR-YEAR-OLDS

Lot 300 reg 4yo b f 16.1hh by Clover Brigade out of Westwinds Cirracruise (Cruising). One with eventual paddock potential is this well-related four-year-old by Clover Brigade. Bred for either eventing or show jumping, she is out of the grade A show jumper Westwinds Cirracruise and from the maternal family of the top class show jumpers Mullentine Loughgall, Clarkes Ferro etc.

Lot 316 Copper, reg 4yo ch g 17hh by Kannan out of Coppindell (VDL Arkansas). Bred in the purple, this gelding is by the world number one ranked show jumping sire out of the good mare Coppindell. The latter headed the ISH league as a five and six-year-old and won the consolation class in Lanaken in 2008.

Lot 318, reg 4yo b g 16.2hh by Peter Pan out of Playgirl (Cruising). Out of the useful amateur show jumping mare Playgirl, this gelding is a half-brother to the Portuguese five-year-old champion DMS Heartthrob. He is also a half-brother to the promising Thomascourt Senna (85 SJI points), winner of the ISH five-year-old class at Tattersalls this year and the joint winner of the ISH class at the Meadows.

Lot 412 Golden Girl, reg 4yo b f 16.1hh by Cantos out of Boraya VDL (Argentinius). From a good family, this filly won her RDS loose jumping qualifier at Warrington last summer. A sale-topping foal in her own right, she is a half-sister to one of this year’s best selling foals Creevyquinn Poseur and from the direct dam’s line of the Nations Cup show jumper Bubalu.

THREE-YEAR-OLDS

Lot 426 Kiltinane Anna, reg 3yo pd f 15.0hh by Diamond Mine out of Miss Templemore. In a correction to the catalogue, this potential show filly is a full-sister to the multiple winning show cob Kihlane Mine. Also to the Royal Cornwall cob champion Kiltinane Teepee and the top show hunter pony Kiltinane Mike.

Lot 450 HVL Con Girl, reg 3yo b f 16.2hh by Chipolini Z out of Highland Mystique (Flagmount King). The winner of the West Cork breeders loose jumpingcompetition this year, and placed third overall in the Millstreet Young Irelander.

Lot 521 reg 3yo b g by Golden Master out of Slyguff Amber (Maltstriker). This traditionally-bred gelding is a full-brother to the highly rated BT Cloud Nine (Camilla Speirs), one of Ireland’s representatives at the WBSHF championships at Le Lion D’Angers this weekend.

Lot 567 reg 3yo b g by Riyalan out of Grove Striker (Maltstriker).Dam is a half-sister to this year’s RDS puissance hero Seapatrick Cruise Cavalier. Also a half-sister to the American-based international show jumper Riverbird and the promising young prospect High Jack.

Lot 582 reg 3yo br f 164cms by Cardento out of Recuerdame (Harlequin du Carel). This filly is the first progeny out of the versatile RDS winning mare Recuerdame. A show champion under saddle, Recuerdame proceeded to jump to grade A level under Gary Quinn, and is a full-sister to the useful grade C show jumper Requiem Hall. Other half siblings to the dam include the advanced event horse Mischievous.

Lot 610 Miss Africa, reg 3yo b g 16.1hh by Iroko out of Lady Ligustra (Cavalier Royale). From a stout dam’s line, this well-bred individual is a half-brother to the Lanaken bronze medallist Ballypatrick Mystique. Also to the 1.40m international performer MHS La Scala and numerous other winning show jumpers.
