UNFORTUNATELY, there isn’t space to mention all those owners who have just one horse entered in the Goresbridge Go For Gold Sale (November 9th to 11th), but four lots deserve special mention.
The first of these is Tom Quigley’s ESI Mona Lisa (Lot 6), one of two mares in the catalogue bred by Ennisnag Stud and registered with the Warmblood Studbook of Ireland. The five-year-old chesnut by Hos D’O is out of the Simba mare ESI Sofia, dam previously of the Dakar VDL gelding ESI Nixon (CCI4*-S) and the Vigo d’Arsouilles mare ESI Rio (1.40m). ESI Sofia is a half-sister to the Heartbreaker mare Arabella, dam of last week’s Pau CCI5*-L runner-up, Its Cooley Time.
Hans Kuehle is selling Tullibards Talking Benny (Lot 15), a four-year-old home-bred Irish Sport Horse gelding by Tullibards Bennys Legacy out of the Plot Blue mare MHS Revolver, a half-sister to the Laughton’s Flight siblings Rolo Tomasi (1.60m) and Bob Dalton (1.50m). The chesnut’s full-brother Tullibards In My Dreams topped the recent Goresbridge supreme sale of three-year-old show jumpers.
Class Sporthorses’ four-year-old home-bred ISH gelding Class J’Adore, who has proven himself in young horse company, is a half-brother to the Warrenstown You 2 gelding Class Romance (CCI4*-L), out of a Verdi half-sister to the Luidam gelding Deelside At Cooley (1.45m).
Poignantly, the three-year-old ISH gelding Cushlas Lord Dancer (Lot 79), a bay son of Udancer Hero out of a Master Imp mare, is being sold by the executors of the late Dessie Gibson’s estate.
