TRADE Horse Ltd, who sold the top-priced lot at the 2024 Goresbridge Go For Gold Sale, a four-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding by Crusing With Diamonds who made €57,000, have a consignment of five geldings at this year’s renewal in Co Wexford.
Dermot and Virginia Considine are selling two unnamed four-year-olds who have been well-schooled cross-country and have competed over show jumps. Lot 8 by Valent is out of the Clover Brigade mare Jasmine Clover who, being out of Jade des Cotes (1.40m), is a half-sister to the Heritage Fortunus gelding Cooley Seeking Fortune (CCI2*-L).
The Considines used a great selling ploy on social media last November by uploading videos of their 12-year-old son Timmy showcasing the sales-topper over set of show jumps and a cross-country track. Twelve months later he’s back, but this time on the flat on the couple’s Lot 18. This brown son of Vittorio is out of the traditionally-bred Watermill Swatch mare Legananny Girl, a half-sister to the Loughehoe Guy siblings Loughehoe Legend (CCI4*-L) and Splashdance (1.35m). This is also the family of Cruise Line (1.60m) and Point Blank (1.50m).
The Co Meath couple’s three-year-olds start with one of only two TIH lots in the sale, Gamut Jack (Lot 26), who is by the thoroughbred stallion Gamut out of a Jackaroo mare. He is followed by No Word (Lot 46), who is by Sligo Candy Boy out of a Captain Canute half-sister to the Mermus R gelding Seaburg (1.40m), and by Ravensdale Mr Blue (Lot 66), a Chacoon Blue bay out of a Ustinov half-sister to the Indoctro geldings Dindoctro (1.55m) and Cingdoctro (1.50m) from the family of Jamiro (1.60m).
Blacktype track winners
Clare’s Frank Casey is consigning a draft of four lots to the upcoming Goresbridge Go For Gold sale, all of them three-year-old bay Irish Sport Horse geldings.
Two of the quartet are unnamed starting with Lot 33, who is by Conticco out of the traditionally-bred Nigrasine mare Grove Rebel 2 (a full-sister to Samarkand (CCI4*-S)), while the other, Lot 62, is by Castlefield Kingston out of a Garrison Royal mare.
Being out of the unraced thoroughbred mare Lord Luso (by Luso), the first of the named pair, Rathnageera Alex (Lot 43), is a Colandro half-brother to the Quantino gelding Rathnageera River (CCI3*-L). In further removes, this is the family of the blacktype track winners Atone, Splendour and Allextrix and Sunday’s Curraghmore point-to-point maiden winner Beg To Differ. Kildysart Max (Lot 81) is a son of Vivant van de Heffinck out of a Harlequin du Carel mare.
