SEVERAL of last week’s RDS three-year-old performance finalists are among the Premier Selection entries for Cavan’s flagship summer sale which kicks off at the venue on Wednesday. These and other high-class prospects are due to come under the hammer in a stand-alone session on Wednesday afternoon, before the performance sale takes place on Thursday. Pedigrees are mainly show jumping focused, but there are also a good number of event and showing bloodlines on offer.

Having dominated the foal returns in recent years, it comes as no surprise to see OBOS Quality and Sligo Candy Boy heading the list of covering sires. In the premier group alone, the pair have nine progeny forward, while in Thursday’s catalogue they also dominate with seven.
