I have to give great credit to @Marnane1 - last November when Settle For Bay won in Dundalk he said he considered him a Royal Hunt Cup Horse - that was a big call as he was only rated 75 then.

Have a pint on that! SETTLE FOR BAY, owned by Dubai’s @McGettigansPub ownership, takes the Royal Hunt Cup @ascot! All those @StellaArtois tall draughts at @Marnane1’s Annual @DubaiWorldCup Week party finally paid me back! #RoyalAscot

Gutted for @DonaghOConnor too. Settle for Bay proved how good a horse he is today. So many exciting times Donagh to look forward to with him.

Well done to all involved with Settle For Bay who won the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot this evening. Trained by David Marnane and owned by Cahir’s Mossie Casey and Mcgettigans Management ltd.

Sir Michael Stoute says Cox Plate is being considered for Prince Of Wales’s Stakes winner Poet’s Word. Yet to talk in detail with the owner.

The more you watch the Jersey the more the wow factor kicks in about Expert Eye. The turn of foot was staggering and the final furlong sectional sensational #RoyalAscot

QUOTE OF THE DAY
“We’ve had this race in mind for a long time, and it’s come off. He’s won and we are delighted. When you train 20 horses, and you’ve won a Wokingham and now a Royal Hunt Cup, it’s very special.”
