1.10 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden 6f 60yds

Thunder Eclipse, who made a hugely promising debut at the Curragh, can prove a popular winner for the Stack team. Listowel winners were always on the agenda when Tommy (Stack) held the licence and it remains the same since his son took charge. Even a reproduction of that debut run would be more than sufficient.

The Acropolis had been well touted before his introduction in the aforementioned Curragh maiden but finished well behind Thunder Eclipse. Perhaps the better ground will see him improve somewhat but on overall form he has work to do.

SELECTION: THUNDER ECLIPSE

Young Angel deserves another chance to fulfil her debut promise having disappointed at Sligo last time. The Ballylinch Stud-owned filly showed definite ability at Navan first time but struggled with the undulations of the track on her latest start.

From a good draw, she should be able to hold a prominent position early and kick on into the straight.

Even Flow looks the biggest danger, as she has both experience and solid placed form. A daughter of Fast Company, she will be well at home in these conditions so deserves plenty of respect.

SELECTION: YOUNG ANGEL

2.10 Return Of The Revival Festival Handicap 7f

Tall Story lacks the experience of a few of these rivals but should be finishing strongly if getting the run of the race. Joe Murphy’s gelding caught the eye on his recent handicap debut, staying on best of all over this trip at Roscommon. He holds leading claims but will need the breaks to come at the right time.

Black Cat Bobby, who landed a nice touch at Gowran Park last time, should remain competitive off his mark. Despite dropping back a furlong now, he should have the pace to cope with the trip and will appreciate the testing ground.

SELECTION: TALL STORY

Next best: Black Cat Bobby

2.45 Virtual Writers Week Handicap 2m

My Sister Sarah can continue the dominance of the Willie Mullins stable in these long-distance handicaps. A very smart handicap hurdler over a trip, she probably ran as well as expected when third over an inadequate distance at Killarney last time. Switched to the flat off an appealing mark, she can resume winning ways.

Politicise, winner of last year’s Lartigue Hurdle at this track, could be a threat. Although out of form recently, he is fairly treated back on the level and returning to a track where he is already proven can see him in a better light.

SELECTION: MY SISTER SARAH

Next best: Politicise

3.20 North Kerry Greenway (C&G) Maiden 1m

Emporio really should be able to capitalise on this opening race having finished a highly commendable fifth in the Irish Guineas last time. With a rating of 103, he is far better than the average runner in a maiden at this venue so it will be a shock if he fails to justify a very short price.

Camino Mission is a speculative pick to reach the frame at what should be biggish odds. Having failed to build on an encouraging debut effort when well beaten at Sligo last time, the market is likely to underestimate his prospects of a podium finish.

SELECTION: EMPORIO

Next best: Camino Mission

3.55 Listowel Tidy Towns Handicap (Div I) 1m

Mary Salome, who has done much of her racing over sprint trips of late, can win if seeing out the mile. On the rare occasions she has been asked to go this far, the mare indicated that it was well within her reach. However, on softer ground this afternoon her stamina will almost certainly be tested to the limit.

Musalsal has most likely been targeted at this meeting for some time and has been fortunate with a considerate draw. He is well-handicapped once again so should be very competitive.

SELECTION: MARY SALOME

Next best: Musalsal

4.30 Listowel Tidy Towns Handicap (Div ll) 1m

Scream, who hinted at a return to form when sixth at Killarney last time, could be the answer to a tricky contest. Having appeared to totally lose her way in recent times, the application of a first-time hood saw a much improved performance. Although there is no guarantee that the headgear will work a second time, she is worth the risk in a weak affair.

Ask Delaney has something to prove having finished in rear last time, but Augustine Leahy loves a winner at this meeting so better can be expected. A plum draw in stall three should allow him hold a prominent position early.

SELECTION: SCREAM

Me Too Please will find this harder than her recent Roscommon maiden win but may be able to continue her upward progress.

A Grade 2 bumper winner at Aintree, she ran green despite making a successful start to her flat career last time. Clearly, she has more to offer but this is an altogether tougher task.

Mythical will win if fit and ready on his seasonal/stable debut. With a flat rating of 103, he is easily the best of these but has some questions to answer now. A glance at the betting market close to the off should give punters a fair guide as to his readiness.

SELECTION: ME TOO PLEASE
