PETER FAHEY

OWEGA STAR

(213-82)

2.55 Leopardstown 27th Paddy Power Chase

He seems to be in great form and he has come out of Navan (second in the Troytown) very well. He got 4lb for that and he has a nice weight on his back. He just needs a bit of luck in a big field like this. His work has been very good. Davy Russell rides.

ADO McGUINNESS

BLACK LABEL

(Flat 263341)

12.20 Leopardstown 27th Paddy Power 3YO Maiden Hurdle

He won well the other night at Dundalk, but the soft ground will be all new to him. He has schooled very well and I think he could develop into a good horse over hurdles. Andrew Lynch has done all the schooling on him and he likes him. He has been in good shape since Dundalk and he will stay well so, if he handles the ground, he should run a big race.

FACE VALUE

(78-7P0)

12.50 Leopardstown 28th Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle

He made a mistake at the third last at Navan the last day and that put paid to his chances. He has a very light weight in the Pertemps so we’ll let him take his chance. I think three miles around Leopardstown will suit him and we know that he likes the track.

PIVOT BRIDGE

(215852)

2.20 Leopardstown 27th Paddy Power Games Handicap Hurdle

He was unlucky to bump into a well-handicapped horse (Pairofbrowneyes) when second the last day at Punchestown. This race has been the plan for a while and I think he is a horse who will win a good race for us somewhere along the way. His form is rock solid, but I just wouldn’t like the ground to go very soft for him. He is a horse with a lot of pace and I think he’ll run a big race.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY

(5382)

2.20 Leopardstown 28th Irish Daily Star Handicap Hurdle

He has yet to win a race over hurdles, but he has been improving all the time. He needs a real fast pace to be seen at his best. He has a lovely racing weight and he ran well in his first handicap hurdle at Cork. He just wouldn’t want the ground to go very soft.

FINE ARTICLE

(21-423)

12.35 Limerick 27th Sunway Holidays Ladies Day Maiden Hurdle

He is a huge horse and he won’t spend too much time over hurdles, but he needs to gain experience. His jumping was a bit sloppy the last day, but I think they will go a shade slower over this trip (2m 6f) and that will suit him. He has been beaten by some good horses over hurdles, but he is more than capable of winning a couple of races over hurdles before he goes chasing. He is going to be a very nice chaser one day.

NOEL MEADE

ROAD TO RICHES

(1-2121)

2.55 Leopardstown 28th Lexus Chase

He was very good at Down Royal and we are hoping that he’ll handle softer ground – that is the big worry. We did the usual thing with him in that we gave him a bit of time off after Down Royal and we are starting to build him back up for Christmas. He seems to be in good shape and hopefully he’ll put up a good show.

APACHE STRONGHOLD

(14-212)

3.05 Leopardstown 29th Topaz Novice Chase

He is in at Limerick as well, but I’d say that he’ll go to Leopardstown. He ran very well at Fairyhouse (finished second to Valseur Lido in the Drinmore) and, though two and a half miles might suit him better than three, I’d say that he’ll take his chance. He seems to be in good shape.

VERY WOOD

(31-61P)

3.05 Leopardstown 29th Topaz Novice Chase

He was disappointing at Punchestown, but he seems to be on the way back. Three miles is what he wants and he was good when he won his chase at Galway. The track at Leopardstown should suit him, but it has the makings of a very good race.

MONKSLAND

(13121/)

1.50 Leopardstown 28th Squared Financial Services Hurdle

He has been off for two years. We got a couple of good pieces of work into him and he went well in a schooling race at Fairyhouse. It is hard to get them fit for a Grade 1 after such a long time off - he is getting there though.

HENRY DE BROMHEAD

SHANAHAN’S TURN

(18-511)

3.05 Leopardstown 29th Topaz Novice Chase

He has done nothing wrong to-date over fences and we want to dip our toe into Grade 1 company to see where we stand. He was very good over 2m 6f the last day and he has been in great form since. Three miles should suit him though it looks a very hot race.

SIZING EUROPE

(441-16)

1.20 Leopardstown 27th Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase

If the ground was suitable, I’d imagine that he will run. He just wouldn’t want it too soft, so we’ll see a bit closer to the time. He was very quiet after Clonmel (finished sixth) where Johnny looked after him.

MOSCOW MANNON

(24-213)

1.20 Leopardstown 27th Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase

He is a likely runner and seems to be in great form. He is improving all the time and, while this represents a big step up in class for him, he is entitled to go there. He was very good at Naas and the mistake at the second last over two and a half miles at Gowran didn’t help him.

HOME FARM

(357P-1)

2.55 Leopardstown 28th Lexus Chase

He was good at Thurles and looks a really nice horse. He was third in an Irish National and he does stay very well. Hhe has a bit to do against the likes of Bobs Worth, but he had a wind operation before he ran at Thurles and that may have improved him.

GRAND JESTURE

(414-21)

2.44 Leopardstown 27th Paddy Power Chase

On his day he is a good horse but he is a character who likes to have things his own way. Three miles around Leopardstown should suit him well but he will need all the luck in a big field like this. He got a 7lb penalty for winning last time out. He handles any ground.

SIZING JOHN

(64-12)

1.50 Leopardstown 26th Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle

A lightly raced horse, we like him and he is a possible runner in the Grade 1. He was good when he won at Naas and he bumped into what looks a very good horse [Douvan] when second at Gowran Park.
