ANTHONY McCann enjoyed a double at Dundalk, with the highlight being Togoville's ninth course success in the Fyffes Race.

The gallant grey appeared to stumble shortly after the start but Pat Smullen soon had him back on an even keel and at the head of affairs.

Primo Uomo threw down a big challenge in the straight, but 11/10 favourite Togoville saw out the six furlongs better to prevail by half a length.

McCann said: "He was supposed to run last week but I took him out for a pick of grass and he got down for a bit of a roll, but he stumbled a bit and wasn't 100% sound.

"I think he must have just bruised a foot so we decided to wait for this. He's a fantastic horse and easy to train.

"Big thanks to Patrick McCann for giving me a couple of horses and the opportunity with a good horse like that.

"He clipped into himself at the start and pulled a shoe but we've come out the other side of it and he's alright thank god."

McCann's double was completed by Fashaar in the Hydroscand Ireland Ltd. Handicap.

Andrew Slattery set his own fractions on the 4/1 chance and got them spot-on because his mount had plenty left to give at the business end and beat Diable D'Or by half a length.

McCann said: "I always loved this horse from day one, and I think he'll prefer grass. The tactics didn't work out, as I wanted to drop him in to get some cover but he was a little bit keen.

"Andrew gave him a superb ride and he's one of a group of good young riders coming along at the moment.

"Big thanks to my staff, and to the physio, Sharon Kelly. She came in on Tuesday to give them all a rub, and they are all in good form."

REVERSAL

Glenmoore couldn't justify market support here on Monday but he was back for the Crowne Plaza Race And Stay Handicap, and punters kept the faith.

The 5/4 favourite hit the front a furlong and a half out, but had no answer when Blastofmagic (4/1) challenged and fell short by half a length.

Tagle also competed here earlier in the week and stepped forward from his fourth then to land the Kellihers Electrical Handicap for Joseph O'Brien and Wayne Lordan at odds of 6/1.

Specific Gravity (11/2) passed the post in second behind Trump Card in the BK Forklifts Handicap, but the stewards deemed that enough interference took place to reverse the placings.

Carvelas (11/4 joint-favourite) denied Six Silver Lane with a narrow call in the CX+ Sport Claiming Race, The Lords Walk (10/1) made a successful return to action in the EliteForm Manufacturing (Sheet Metal Specialists) Handicap, and Jon Ess (4/5) justified favouritism in the last, the one mile At The Races Handicap.
