Davys Dilemma

(N. Meade)

Galway October 26th

This gelding is a useful 88-rated stayer on the flat and on his first start for 14 months he posted a solid effort on his hurdling debut to finish a respectable third in the maiden hurdle won by Latest Exhibition. He should make his mark over timber this winter.

Glamorgan Duke

(P.J. Gilligan)

Galway October 27th

He showed plenty of promise in several of his runs over hurdles and made a highly encouraging debut over fences at Galway last weekend when he was third to Battleoverdoyen. He provided the stiffest resistance to the winner for much of the race and should make up into a nice chaser.

Uisce Solas

(D. Queally)

Wexford October 27th

This dual bumper winner made an encouraging start over hurdles last Sunday to chase home the Grade 1-placed juvenile Surin in a conditions hurdle. Despite her lack of previous jumping experience, she finished within five lengths to the winner and she could take some beating in a mares’ maiden hurdle over the coming weeks.

Coolbane Boy

(W.J. Burke)

Wexford October 28th

An unraced son of Mountain High, he looked as though he would give the short-priced favourite Cayd Boy plenty to do in a four-year-old maiden hurdle before giving best from two out to finish a respectable third. A very heartening start to his career.

Shantou Sisu

(W.J. Lanigan)

Clonmel October 31st

This gelding was unable to justify favouritism in the handicap hurdle won by Billy’s Angel but he showed up well to come out of the pack and finished second after the leading duo stole quite a march on the rest of the field. He should improve plenty for his first start since February and could also progress over longer trips.
