SEDGEFIELD Thursday was a happy hunting ground for two Irish trainers. Gordon Elliott brought up a 32/1 four-timer and Armagh-based Ronan McNally was also in the winners’ spot with Da Baba Elephant (11/8 favourite), who won the two-mile, five-furlong handicap chase under Brian Hughes.

Make My Heart Fly (2/1), High Expectations (5/4 favourite) and King’s Song (7/2 joint-favourite) were the Elliott winners ridden by Richard Johnson.

James Bowen steered home Tim O’Driscoll’s Dinons at 1/12 in the conditional jockeys’ novices’ hurdle. Elliott said: “It’s great to have four winners and it’s fantastic for the owners. We might have 10 or 11 at Perth on Monday.”

McNally also had a winner at Southwell on Wednesday with The Jam Man.
