Dartan

(M.J. Smith)

Navan November 21st

A mile-and-a-half flat winner in Germany last year, this gelding ran a pleasing race on his hurdling debut last weekend when he finished a good second to Noah’s Light.

On this evidence, it won’t be long before he is making his mark over hurdles and his next start is awaited with interest.

Robinstown

(G. Elliott)

Navan November 21st

He went off a big price for the handicap hurdle won by Futurum Regem and ran with credit to finish a nine-length second to the runaway winner.

He won his maiden hurdle on testing ground at this track last March and on deeper ground later in the winter he should be adding to his tally.

Samurai Cracker

(Mrs C. McCaldin)

Navan November 21st

He looked a big threat turning for home in the Troytown but faded over the last three fences to finish seventh.

On his previous start he showed up well in a two-mile handicap chase at Down Royal and when he moves back down in trip he could challenge for a decent prize.

Heavenly Body

(Mrs. J. Harrington)

Dundalk November 24th

She showed some promise on her first two starts and that was again the case in Wednesday’s seven-furlong auction maiden where she was putting in her best work in the closing stages. She can progress again from here, especially when she moves up to a mile.

Howaya Aoife

(G. Keane)

Thurles November 25th

She was making her first appearance since May in the handicap chase won by Ciankyle and had to settle for eighth. However, she was beaten by less than nine lengths and finished out her race to reasonable effect, so she can improve from this when she moves up in trip.
