MELISSA O’Neill has an exciting new venture opening up on the Curragh, a privately owned, fully enclosed gallop and schooling facility for exercising and training of horses – all comers welcome and available for your private and exclusive use.

Located on the edge of the Curragh, the training surfaces are constructed from Wexford sand a similar surface used by Jessica Harrington Racing, Camilla Spears Eventing and Harry and Lorna Fowler of Derrynagown Bloodstock.

Melissa enlarges: “The training grounds are all fenced in white as found at Ascot, Meydan and Saratoga. We have a trot/canter ring that can be sealed. It is possible to trot/canter in either direction and it is possible to have two upsides if required. There is a removal hurdle that is useful to get your youngster going, or give your older horse a freshen up. This trot/canter ring is for use with the gallop or the schooling strip.”

With a 3.5 furlong round gallop, National Hunt schooling fences (chase or hurdles with two days notice) and ample private parking, this is an enclosed and safe environment for training and giving enjoyment to horses of all ages and all disciplines.

The round gallop has been designed with ‘upsides-work’ in mind and can be used both clockwise and anti-clockwise.

When you book, you have the whole facilities to yourself. It is a quiet and peaceful place to come and exercise your horses.

Sounds ideal for all types and will give your horse a change of scene.

Why not give Melissa a call on 087 4041672 and take it from there?
