The Dublin Neurological Institute [DNI] at the Mater Hospital is staging a fundraiser at Fairyhouse on that day. Tickets are €200 each and include admission, a four-course meal in the Bobbyjo Restaurant, racecard, tipster and live music.

You can buy individual tickets or a table of 10. To reserve tickets contact 01-854 5033 or email fundraising@dni.ie

The DNI is a registered charity, a business and a centre of excellence for the care of patients with neurological disease including Parkinson’s disease, strokes, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.

Over 5,000 outpatients were looked after by the clinic in 2020. The DNI made headlines in that year when it provided one of its Parkinson’s patients with a trained dog.

The patient had been unable to go for walks without attracting unwanted attention when his feet ‘froze’ but the DNI team found that the dog provided a crucial bit of stability and momentum which proved life-changing for the patient.

This is just one of many research projects the DNI has undertaken. It relies on donations to continue its work.
