Grade 2-placed over hurdles, Kilbarry Saint looks to have leading claims of getting off the mark over fences. Highly tried in six starts over the larger obstacles to date, the Con O’Keeffe-trained mare should be good enough to win, if fit and ready after a break. Having also picked up blacktype over fences, the six-year-old stands out here.

Winning point-to-pointer Nowwhatdoyouthink has been gradually getting his act together over fences. A bumper and maiden hurdle winner under rules, the Rack Hackett-trained gelding has shaped well enough in three outings over fences to suggest he can add to his tally shortly.

SELECTION: KILBARRY SAINT

Course and distance winner Duty Bound can make it two from two over fences. Having reverted to hurdles after opening his chase account here in August of last year, the John Flavin-trained gelding returns to the larger obstacles off what appears to be a rather favourable mark.

The vastly-experienced Caesar Rock could be hard to peg back if allowed an easy lead on the front end. Although boasting a record of just one win from 25 starts over fences, the Mouse Morris-trained gelding is a dependable type that rarely runs a bad race.

SELECTION: DUTY BOUND

A three-time winner on the Flat, Sea Eagle ran a solid race on his hurdling debut when runner-up at Downpatrick last month. Back on a more conventional track and, with the benefit of that experience, the Gerard O’Leary-trained gelding rates a live contender.

The Store Boy made a promising debut over flights when third behind two subsequent winners at Tramore in May. Although off the track since then, lack of fitness is never a worry from a Henry De Bromhead-trained horse. Provided that he has been brought along with this race in mind, the five-year-old should be capable of getting competitive.

SELECTION: SEA EAGLE

A winner on the flat when trained in Britain, Open Secret can score on just his second run for Gordon Elliott. Fourth on his hurdling debut at Navan last month, the four-year-old should be all the better for that introduction. A 77-rated handicapper on the level, the son of Cracksman has plenty of racing experience.

Fairlander, who finished third on his sole point-to-point start in April, has to be of interest on his rules debut. In a race where reasonable worthwhile form is somewhat thin on the ground, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding has to enter calculations.

SELECTION: OPEN SECRET

Next Best: Fairlander

Mozzies Sister, who has finished runner-up on both appearances this season, has every chance. A dual winner, the Declan Queally-trained mare is a genuine sort who shouldn’t be too long in regaining the winning thread. As a prominent racer, the six-year-old should appreciate this tight track.

Dream On Baby also has leading claims for the Emmet Mullins yard. Runner-up on the flat at Thurles last time, the daughter of Walk In The Park was second in a Grade 3 hurdle at Fairyhouse back in January. A reproduction of that effort would give her every chance.

SELECTION: MOZZIES SISTER

Next Best: Dream On Baby

Blossom De Mai, who ran a remarkable race at Listowel last month, has to be a contender. Badly hampered three out on that occasion, the Philip Rothwell-trained mare stayed on from the penultimate flight to reach the frame close home. Granted a clearer passage, the eight-year-old is capable of adding to her sole previous success.

Runner-up at Gowran Park last time, Aclass has to be a contender despite top weight. Having raced on the front end throughout, the John Flavin-trained seven-year-old stayed on well from the final flight to take minor honours close home.

SELECTION: BLOSSOM DE MAI

Next Best: Aclass

Successful on his first two starts for trainer Ian Donoghue, Hitthehayson can complete the hat-trick. Although now 13lb higher than for his initial win, the six-year-old scored with enough in hand at Downpatrick last time to suggest he could still be ahead of the handicapper. His prominent racing style should prove ideally suited to this track.

The Toothpicker, who finished fourth at Gowran Park on his first start back with Ken Budds last time, has to be respected. Runner-up off 4lb higher in his first stint with the trainer, the son of Arctic Cosmos would have every chance if building on that recent effort.

SELECTION: HITTHEHAYSON

Next Best: The Toothpicker

Although bred to appreciate further, the Willie Mullins-trained Lady Lena should be capable of winning her bumper. Third on her racecourse debut at Listowel last month, the half-sister to a blacktype horse kept on well in the closing stages. It would be no surprise to see the mare race a bit closer to the pace around here.

Fourth at Fairyhouse on her stable debut last time, Ballymoreen should be all the better for that run. Off the track since filling a similar position at Thurles in December, the Malinas mare should have come on from that recent return.

SELECTION: LADY LENA

Next Best: Ballymoreen
