1.50 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MARES MAIDEN HURDLE 2M

Peace N’ Milan looks capable of adding this race to the bumper success she recorded on heavy ground at Clonmel a couple of months ago. She makes a quick return following her respectable fourth to Msmilan at Navan last weekend where she was beaten just under 7l into fourth. A threat is Let Her Cry who was placed in a maiden on heavy ground here in December and she returned to form with a third to Miss Me Now at Limerick last month when she had Kayf Hampshire back in fifth.

2.20 WATERFORD & TRAMORE RACECOURSE FAMILY FUN AFTERNOON MAIDEN HURDLE 2M 5F

This is a good opportunity for Sizing Alberta. His last run behind For Freddie is best ignored as he lost a huge amount of ground when veering left shortly after the start and he actually ran much better than his final position indicates. A repeat of his previous 4l second to Jetstream Jack at Clonmel would be good enough. Dontbackme comes here off an encouraging comeback second to Lofgren at Downpatrick. He should improve from that run and holds a rating of 109 although his best form is on better ground than he will encounter here. Kalanisi King is also interesting as he won his bumper at this track.

Dr Waluigi can gain an overdue success. On several of his recent runs he deserves to makes his mark. He is better than he got to show behind Mississippi River at Cork last time and efforts such as his second to Admiral Brian at Navan and his fourth to Coolaghknock Glebe at Fairyhouse put him in with every chance. Dual course winner Just Get Cracking has to contend with top weight but comes here off a good third to Solita in a novice handicap chase at Fairyhouse. He sets a reasonable standard but might just be vulnerable over this trip. Course winner Lake Field and De Benno, who second over fences at Navan last weekend, are others to bear in mind.

He has work to do on ratings but Tennis Cap might prevail. Encouragingly his winning form over fences has been achieved at distances up to 2m 6f and he comes here in good heart as illustrated by his defeat of Val De Ferbet in a conditions hurdle at Cork last time. His efforts over fences recently include honourable second place finishes in Thurles conditions chases won by Smashing and Lord Scoundrel. Shanahan’s Turn has yet to recapture the form that saw him land the Galway Plate last summer. He would also prefer better ground but he will find this far easier than the handicap chase he contested at Cheltenham last month. He also wears a tongue strap for the first time.

Selection: TENNIS CAP

4.05 WATERFORD & TRAMORE DIRECTORS HANDICAP CHASE 2M 7F

Kylcrue hasn’t been at his best lately but a look back at some of his form earlier in the season gives cause that he can recover. He beat the Kerry and Irish National winner Rogue Angel at Listowel, was placed in the Troytown, chased home Prince Of Scars over hurdles and as recently as late February he was placed in a good handicap chase at Leopardstown. Garrai Phaidin was still in contention when falling two out at Gowran Park last time. Before that he won a Thurles handicap chase by 16l and he should run well despite being some 15lbs higher in the weights.

He comes here in much better form than most of his rivals and King Blue makes plenty of appeal. Last time out at Clonmel he was only narrowly denied by Mtada Supreme in a 2m 4f handicap chase and that effort indicates that he will have no trouble coming back to this trip. He looks more than capable of making his mark at this level. Our Boy Ben is an interesting rival for King Blue as he makes his debut for Gordon Elliott. He hasn’t run since June and was a relatively modest sort in Britain. but he does have a relatively recent victory to his name having struck over an extended 2m at Sedgefield last May.

Selection: KING BLUE

5.05 CURRAN SOUTH EAST CLEANERS (C&G) (PRO/AM) FLAT RACE 2M

The Storyteller should succeed here. On his racecourse debut he ran a pleasing race to finish second in a Down Royal maiden hurdle won by Cogryhill and he returned from a near four-month break to be beaten 9l into fourth by Gettysburg Address in a Navan bumper. Encouragingly the fifth home has since won a Downpatrick bumper and runner-up was placed in a decent Fairyhouse bumper last week. He looks too strong for Jetstream Joe who was fourth to Impulsive Star in a Cork bumper last month.
