Speed For Fun can register a first win over hurdles at the third attempt. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding looked all over a winner when coming down at the last flight at Listowel on his jumping debut in May. He subsequently ran as well as could have been expected when runner-up to an above average novice at Cartmel last time.

Louiescall has acquired plenty of experience over flights at this stage and rates the main danger. Although yet to get his head in front, the David Harry Kelly-trained five-year-old has twice finished second.

Recent Cork handicap hurdle winner Ina Mina can follow up for trainer Terence O’Brien. Making all on that occasion over a similar distance, the mare should again be suited to adopting similar tactics around this tighter track. Well handicapped relative to her flat mark, there should be more to come from the five-year-old.

A course and distance winner in May, Liberated Light has run well in two subsequent outings on the flat. Connections have possibly saved the gelding for this local meeting and protected his hurdles mark in the interim.

SELECTION: INA MINA

Placed in two bumpers, Lady Lena can make the breakthrough on her hurdling debut. A half-sister to a three-time winner, the Willie Mullins-trained mare should be suited to stepping up in trip. This looks a nice opportunity for the six-year-old to gain a winning bracket.

Goodmancon sets the standard amongst those that have already run. A mark of 105 would normally be good enough to win a summer maiden hurdle and the Pat Breen-trained gelding has hinted that his turn is near.

SELECTION: LADY LENA

Future Prospect can open her account over fences. Runner-up on her last two starts, the Willie Mullins-trained mare was beaten a length on both those occasions. A smart novice hurdler, the daughter of Order Of St George has steadily improved since going chasing.

Stablemate Straight Home looks the biggest danger. A former point-to-point winner, the nine-year-old goes chasing at a relatively late stage of her career, but has already proven her ability to jump and has to be a serious contender.

SELECTION: FUTURE PROSPECT

Next best: Straight Home

Having unseated at Galway last time, A Snow White Park can gain compensation. Runner-up on her previous two starts, including over course and distance in May, the Mags Mullins-trained mare holds strong claims.

Nastya blotted her copybook when refusing at Wexford last time, but would be a threat if on song.

A lightly-raced seven-year-old, the Henry de Bromhead-trained mare boasts some smart form and shouldn’t be far away, if consenting to race on this occasion.

SELECTION: A SNOW WHITE PARK

Ballinaboola Gold is a speculative suggestion in an open affair. Although yet to win from 14 attempts, the Dick Donohue-trained mare has shaped with promise on more than one occasion over hurdles. Perhaps the switch to chasing can finally see her record that elusive win.

The veteran Itsalonglongroad has run some of his best races around here. Although now in the latter stages of his career, he has been a real credit to connections and shouldn’t be discounted.

The Willie Mullins-trained Village Dream can land this finale. A promising fifth on her introduction at Killarney, the well-bred six-year-old should have benefited from that initial experience and can strike here at the second time of asking. Having finished third in a winners’ bumper at Galway recently, The Two Mary’s was subsequently demoted a place. A reproduction of that run would give the Shark Hanlon-trained mare claims here.
