2.20 ADARE MANOR OPPORTUNITY MAIDEN HURDLE 2M

Kolumbus has had plenty of opportunities to lose his maiden status over hurdles but is worth a final chance here. Willie Mullins does not house too many older horses with his profile, so the fact the horse remains in his care has to be significant. Placed in half of his appearances over flights, this former bumper winner should be capable of finally breaking his duck.

Generalisation has been disappointing to date but it’s too early to give up on him. His two best efforts have come at this track, something that will give his supporters hope.

2.55 ENJOY WHITE GYPSY @FINNS BORRISOLEIGH HURDLE 2M 7F 59Y

Peregrine Run may be using this race as a stepping stone to one of the bigger festivals but is well treated if close to full fitness. Peter Fahey’s nine-year-old is better known as a chaser but ran very well when last seen over hurdles at Down Royal. With question marks about most of his opponents, he is a very intriguing runner.

Scarpeta will find this easier having run at Cheltenham last time but carries a heavy penalty now. If his trip to the Cotswolds hasn’t taken too much out of him, he looks the chief threat to the Fahey horse.

3.30 HORSE & JOCKEY HANDICAP HURDLE 2M 7F 59Y

Be My Dream, who was a real eyecatcher at Limerick last week, can take this off topweight. On that occasion, the Jimmy Finn mare traveled into the race strongly but the winner just got first run. She gave the impression her turn was close and which can be put to the test now. In a race that won’t take much winning, she arrives in excellent heart. Lisclogher Lad will appreciate stepping up in trip here and is better handicapped over hurdles than fences. He has a very poor overall win record but Paul Flynn hasn’t had the horse long so could get a tune out of him.

4.05 PIERCE MOLONY MEMORIAL NOVICE CHASE (LISTED) 2M 2F

Jetz, who only got as far as the first fence at Naas last time, can make amends here. Jessica Harrington’s horse had previously looked an improving chaser, particularly when making all at Navan on his penultimate start. First-time cheekpieces can help him concentrate and Paul Townend returns to the saddle.

Duca De Thaix was a long way behind Jetz at Navan but had beaten that horse at the same track last year. He is almost certainly better than his most recent run so could represent the value in the race.

4.40 DUGGAN VETERINARY SUPPLIES HANDICAP CHASE 2M 4F 91Y

Bee A Beneficiary can continue the excellent form of the Declan Queally yard by taking this off bottom weight. The mare has already won two point-to-points so jumping is unlikely to be a problem and she gets in here off a mark 8lb below her hurdles rating. A recent comeback outing at Clonmel should have left her spot on for this assignment.

Chief Of Panama has a long absence to overcome but is worth a market check with Denis O’Regan in the saddle. The jockey has combined successfully with Liam Cusack in recent times and this horse is well handicapped after his layoff.

SELECTION: BEE A BENEFICIARY

5.15 DEVIL’S BIT BEGINNERS CHASE 2M 6F

Rathnure Rebel was the best of these over hurdles and is already shaping up to be likewise over fences. The form of his second placing at Gowran Park last time is just about the best piece in this contest. A reproduction should be good enough to see him home in front.

Stooshie was placed at this track last month and appeals as the most likely danger. Davy Russell will be able to stalk the leaders and deliver his challenge late on.

SELECTION: RATHNURE REBEL

5.50 WWW.THURLESRACES.IE (PRO/AM) INH FLAT RACE 2M

Scalor sets a fair standard here having finished second on his debut at Punchestown last month. A slight concern is that his trainer always has her horses primed at the first time of asking, so maybe that is as good as he is. If that is the case, he is vulnerable to a newcomer but on balance he looks the horse to beat.

Farceur Du Large represents leading connections here and is a newcomer that has to be respected. He won’t have to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning debut although he lacks the experience of the Doyle horse.
