Claire O’Connell has been amongst the winners of late and Aughlish can provide further success. Placed on all three previous starts, the Soldier’s Call filly has yet to race on turf, but just about sets the standard if proving as effective as she is at Dundalk. Glen And Tonic should be all the better for a recent reappearance at the Curragh. Prominent throughout, the David Marnane-trained filly kept on inside the final furlong to finish seventh in a big field. Given that the stable runners tend to come on from their return, she is entitled to go close.

With the benefit of two previous solid runs, the Paddy Twomey-trained County Carlow can make it third time lucky. A beaten favourite on his debut at Dundalk in March, the Saxon Warrior gelding weakened late on when fourth at that same track last time. Dropping back in trip here could well be the key to seeing him open his account.

Fate’s Gambit sets the standard with an official rating of 76. Fifth in a stronger contest at Cork last time, the Robson De Aguiar-trained gelding should appreciate this tight, turning track. It would be no surprise to see him bounce out and try to make all.

Gegenpressing tends to run some of his best races at this track and the Edward and Patrick Harty-trained gelding can add another course success.

A three-time previous scorer here, he is ideally suited to the unique demands of this venue, able to quicken from off a strong pace late on. He can make it four-from-four here.

Dual winner Polar Bear looked to be coming to the boil on his latest two starts. Well handicapped relative to his best form from a couple of seasons ago, the Jessica Harrington-trained gelding is another with leading claims.

A winner here, both on the flat and over flights, You Make Me Smile has to hold every chance. Mid-division on her reappearance at Navan in March, the eight-year-old stepped forward from that run to reach the frame at Gowran Park last time.

In all likelihood, this meeting has been the plan for some time and she can regain the winning thread.

Course and distance winner Itsalonglongroad has been a great servant to connections over the years.

Although now in the veteran stages of his career, the David O’Sullivan-trained gelding should come on from a recent run over fences at Tramore and, he too, has most likely been aimed at this particular meeting.

Lady Mairen may be able to record a first success now that she enters handicap company. Placed twice as a juvenile, the Paddy Twomey-trained filly was off the track for over 18 months before finishing a creditable sixth on her return at Bellewstown.

Connections clearly feel that she retains enough ability to shed her maiden tag.

Electric Beauty has been largely consistent this term, aside from one below par run at Gowran Park. A tough front-runner, who finds plenty for pressure, the Michael Mulvany-trained four-year-old should be ideally suited to the demands of this track and shouldn’t be underestimated.

Unlucky in running when fifth at Bellewstown last month, Giselles Defence can gain compensation. A four-time previous winner, the Sean Davis-trained gelding was badly hampered before running on late. Although that race was over a mile, all of his previous wins have come at this distance, so the step up in trip looks ideal.

Gowran Park fourth She’s Ideal should enjoy the better ground conditions. Lightly raced for trainer Paul Flynn, the four-year-old should be open to improvement and has to be respected for a yard that traditionally do quite well with their runners at this venue.

Sands Castle belied odds of 300/1 when staying on to finish fourth on her reappearance at Gowran Park last month. Entitled to come on from that effort, the Adrian Sexton-trained filly now enters handicap company off an opening mark of 64. It is unlikely that any fancy prices will be available about the Sands Of Mali filly and she can open her account.

Down The Glen should be all the better for a recent reappearance at the Curragh. A winner on his final start at Galway last season, the Ross O’Sullivan-trained gelding is likely to strip fitter here and stepping up further in trip is also a positive for the son of Gleneagles.
