Pale Iris

(J.G. Murphy)

Curragh, March 21st

This filly showed promise on her debut outing at Limerick last October and she began her season with a pleasing fourth to Joan Of Arc in a seven-furlong fillies’ maiden at the Curragh where she finished nicely from off the pace. A maiden win can come her way before too long.

Fourhometwo

(J.P. Murtagh)

Curragh, March 21st

On his first handicap outing he shaped up well off a mark of 98 when taking third in Sunday’s Madrid Handicap. He will surely do better as a result of this comeback outing and his effort would suggest he can be placed to advantage in a decent race this term.

Bergentown

(P. Fenton)

Navan, March 22nd

This son of Policy Maker, the sire of Chacun Pour Soi, showed excellent progress from his unplaced first run to take fourth in the maiden hurdle won by Coventry at Navan on Monday. He kept on quite nicely in the closing stages and showed enough to suggest that he could be making his mark over the coming months.

Judgement Day

(P.F. McEnery)

Clonmel, March 23rd

A 139-rated chaser at his peak, he has shown promise on both his runs since being picked up for £5,000 at the sales last autumn. He followed a good second to French Dynamite over hurdles with this creditable third to Robin Des Foret in a useful conditions chase and both efforts would suggest that he will be winning again before too long.

Roped In

(D.G. Murphy)

Cork, March 25th

This Presenting mare had struggled on her first two runs but her fifth to Takarengo in the second division of the two-and-a-half-mile maiden hurdle represented a heartening step in the right direction. There should be more to come from this sister to Ontheropes and she can make her mark on the track at some point.
