PADDY Twomey cracked the code in the 2023 Goffs Million (4.20) with the talented One Look, and he’s back to snare the sizeable pot again this afternoon with bright juvenile Trean.

The €20,000 yearling from Book 1 of the Goffs Orby Sale is one of 20 in the mix for Saturday’s most valuable event at the Curragh.

He bids to follow exactly the path of last year’s winner, Dorset, who went from finishing fourth in the Group 1 Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes before plundering the Million. Trean filled the same position behind Folsom Blues in that Irish Champions Festival event just 13 days ago.

“Trean is a lovely colt and one we liked from the very start,” said Twomey.

“He won well [in a maiden] at Galway and has performed very well at York [when third in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes] and the Curragh since.

“He was fourth in a Group 1 the last day and you’d have to be very happy with that. He’s bounced out of the race in good form and we’re looking forward to Saturday with him.”
