1.15 Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac - Criterium des Pouliches (Group 1) (2yo fillies) 1m

Given her proven pattern-race form and toughness, Joseph O’Brien’s Moyglare Stud Stakes runner-up Agartha should go well, as should Acer Alley, whose Prix La Rochette victory is strong form.

But the fact that Raclette is, after just two wins in minor company, heading the ante-post market at a short price despite trainer André Fabre having another strong candidate in Fleur D’Iris suggests that this Frankel filly could be a bit special.

SELECTION: RACLETTE

Next best: Agartha

1.55 Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Grand Criterium) (Group 1) (2yo no geldings) 7f

This does not look like a strong renewal so it should pay to side with the only runner with Group 1 form, Hugo Palmer’s Phoenix Stakes winner and National Stakes third, Ebro River.

He should be more effective over this easy seven furlongs than he was at the Curragh last time and should prove too strong for the only two home-trained runners, Ancient Rome and Accakaba.

Aidan O’Brien has supplemented the maiden Stone Age, who was runner-up in a blanket finish to a Group 2 over a mile at Leopardstown last time and should appreciate this shorter trip.

SELECTION: EBRO RIVER

Next Best: Ancient Rome

3.50 Prix de l’Opera Longines (Group 1) (3yo+ Fillies & Mares) 1m 2f

Aidan O’Brien’s Prix de Diane heroine, Joan Of Arc, and Joseph O’Brien’s Pretty Polly Stakes scorer, Thundering Nights, fly the flag for Ireland here.

The Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf winner, Audarya, third in an excellent edition of this race 12 months ago, is the pick of two British visitors.

They will all have to go some if they are to lower the colours of the unbeaten easy Group 1 Preis der Diana (German Oaks) winner, Palmas.

The Andreas Wohler-trained filly is open to further improvement having only visited a racecourse on three occasions.

SELECTION: PALMAS

4.25 Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines (Group 1) (2yo+) 5f

The French have successfully defended their own top sprint prize just five times in the last 42 years, but they did so last term with Wooded and can do so again thanks to the brilliant Night Of Thunder filly Suesa, who was badly drawn and found the going too fast at York last time but bolted up at Goodwood the time before.

Berneuil was impressive in landing the main trial and is her biggest danger alongside the 2019 winner, Glass Slippers.

SELECTION: SUESA

5.00 Qatar Prix de la Foret (Group 1) (3yo+) 7f

Seven furlongs around a bend is the perfect combination for Charlie Appleby’s Space Blues and he can make it seven wins from his last nine starts and grab a second career Group 1 here.

Sagamiyra, another seven-furlong specialist who was only touched off by Mother Earth over a mile at Deauville in August, is the obvious alternative.

SELECTION: SPACE BLUES
