1.45 Bective Restaurant Maiden Hurdle 2m

Blackbow sets a good standard here. Although a beaten odds-on favourite on his last three starts, he looked to have the measure of the very useful Captain Guinness when a faller at the final flight here in December. Too keen last time at Punchestown, the front-runner will need to settle better here but looks a cut above these rivals.

Lynwood Gold comes into the equation on her Naas second last month over this trip, a race in which Ennemi Public finished fourth, while The Priests Leap shaped well over course and distance last month and has to be respected.

SELECTION: BLACKBOW

Next best: Lynwood Gold

2.20 Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle 2m

Instant Return didn’t make the cut for the Boodles Juvenile Handicap at Cheltenham but the progressive four-year-old comes here on a hat-trick and clearly relishes testing conditions. The stiff Navan finish should suit him well.

Ardamir surpassed expectations on his first start for Gordon Elliott when chasing home the strongly fancied Aarons Day at Naas last month and he could well take a step forward here.

Harvest Bow returns from a winter break on ground he handles and comes from an in-form yard.

SELECTION: INSTANT RETURN

Next best: Ardamir

Francin’s maiden win here last month came over two miles, though he had previously shown better form when placed over 2m 4f at Leopardstown, and he now goes up in trip with a good chance of staying.

Festival D’Ex also won his maiden here over the minimum trip but ran moderately over this trip at Thurles, so Gordon Elliott’s other runner Pencilfulloflead gets the vote, having proven his stamina over this trip at Punchestown although he will need to be slicker in his jumping now upped in grade.

SELECTION: PENCILFULLOFLEAD

Next best: Francin

3.30 Webster Cup Chase (Grade 2) 2m

A small turnout but still a tricky race to call. Cadmium heads it on ratings although he has yet to run anywhere near his best this season, having stopped quite abruptly at Naas last time in a race in which Castlegrace Paddy also disappointed.

Ornua was a bit out of his depth last time but small fields suit Henry de Bromhead’s front-runner and although he would prefer better ground, he looks a more solid option than the enigmatic Mengli Khan.

SELECTION: ORNUA

Next best: Mengli Khan

4.05 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Chase Final (Grade B) 3m

Treacysenniscorthy is an obvious starting point, now reverting to fences off a mark 19lb below his new hurdles mark on the back of four successive handicap wins over the smaller obstacles. Only his third attempt over fences, he clearly has plenty of scope for improvement.

Minella Till Dawn didn’t appear to get the extended trip at Punchestown but had earlier looked a progressive sort when scoring at Cork and he could well bounce back here.

Tokyo Getaway is already a better chaser than hurdler after two attempts and looked good at Clonmel last time. She could prove a live threat. Caravation won the novice hurdle on this card last year but has looked vulnerable of late over fences.

SELECTION: TREACYSOFENNISCORTHY

Next best: Minella Till Dawn

4.40 Navan Members Handicap Chase 2m 1f

Top-weight Spare Brakes came good for a decisive win over Conright Boy over course and distance 11 days ago and despite being 6lb worse off with that rival is taken to confirm the form.

The runner-up had previously chased home a progress type at Gowran Park and seems sure to put up another bold effort.

My Manekineko scored over much farther at Leopardstown under a fine hold-up ride from Gavin Brouder but has form over shorter trips and rates a definite threat.

SELECTION: SPARE BRAKES

Next best: Conright Boy

5.15 Vincent Ward Memorial (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race 2m

Don’t Tell Allen looked plenty green on his debut here in January when second to this week’s Weatherbys Champion Bumper fifth Eskylane and the half-brother to Next Destination should come on enough to score here.

Eskylane’s trainer Gordon Elliott fields two here, both Jimmy Jimmy and Torygraph having shown enough to suggest they could win an ordinary bumper.

A bigger threat could emerge from Noel Meade’s Barbary Master, who shaped well when unfancied on his bumper debut at Thurles and could well step up here.

SELECTION: DON’T TELL ALLEN

Next best: Barbary Master
