1:15 LYNN LODGE STUD IRISH EBF MAIDEN 5F

Michael O’Callaghan has been going well with his two-year-olds this season and he may score another maiden with Rangefield Express. The son of Born To Sea ran encouragingly first time out when finishing third to Andre Amar and Servalan, who both upgraded that form on their subsequent starts. He can improve for the experience and that should prove enough.

Silver Service has got solid course form and ought to be thereabouts again for the Mulvanys while Yolo Again showed good progress from her first to second starts when third to Dandys Ocean at the Curragh.

1:50 CROSS GUNS GASTRO PUB HANDICAP 5F

A wide open handicap with 21 runners is likely to resemble some sort of cavalry charge. Gopsies Daughter may well be the most in-form runner but is drawn 21 out of 21, she might struggle to take up a decent position in running. Pillar was a little disappointing on his previous run but he has a good record at Navan and also has the service of the champion jockey again.

Another worth noting is A Few Dollars More who was largely out of form all of last season but showed a little spark when staying on at Cork on his return. Andrew Slattery’s six-year-old is well handicapped if he can put his best foot forward.

2:25 SUMMER LADIES DAY APPRENTICE HANDICAP 5F

It might be worth taking a chance on Focus Of Attention who is interestingly making his debut for Joseph O’Brien as a four-year-old. She has only run five times, all last year, and so she has scope to improve now off a reduced mark of 66. She should be racing on much quicker ground today which could also be a help.

Daliyah is another who has been given a chance by the handicapper, having begun the season off a mark of 79, she races off 70 here. Of course that is because of a couple of substandard performances but the move down in trip and likely faster ground could aid the daughter of Zoffany.

3:00 ADRIAN FOX MEMORIAL MAIDEN 1M 5F

National Security will likely start at a short price here on account of his good run to finish fourth to Southern France in a listed race over this course and distance on his previous start. That said, it shouldn’t be overlooked that Cypress Creek finished ahead of him when chasing home the same Southern France in a Leopardstown maiden last month. That was his first run of the campaign and he should improve for it.

Baliyad ran green on his first run, over 10 furlongs at this course. He could well improve but will need to, coming up in trip against colts who already set a decent standard.

3:35 COME RACING SATURDAY JULY 14TH HANDICAP 1M 5F

This tight heat can go to Constancio, who looks a different horse to the one we saw last year. Jim Bolger’s five-year-old started his season with a convincing maiden win around this course and he backed that up with a good second to Brazos at Killarney. He has a lightly-raced profile so now that he is in form, he could well progress further.

Apparition ran well at Leopardstown and could easily put up a big show, especially on the pick of his handicap runs last season. However Suitor caught the eye finishing third to stablemate Kuraka at Leopardstown and he can build on that on this, just his fifth start for Gordon Elliott.

4:10 ROYAL COUNTY HANDICAP 1M 2F

Aiseolas should appreciate the step back up in trip and could be a tough nut to crack but the vote goes to High Street Lady. Tony Martin’s filly has two and a half lengths to find with Aiseolas on their previous meeting at Killarney but she should be better suited to this sort of trip and the likely better ground. Previously to that run, the daughter of Finsceal Fior looked a filly to follow when easily accounting for the now 94-rated Drapers Guild at Dundalk.

James Barrett has done really well with For Pleasure who has earned herself a crack at this by progressing through the ranks. That said, this looks a lot tougher and so the Ger Lyons-trained Overcoming gets the second vote. The 10-furlong trip is an unknown for the son of Kodiac but he was staying on towards the end of a bunch finish at Dundalk, on his seasonal reappearance, and he should strip fitter now.

4:40 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF RACE 1M

London Icon comes out top on ratings and he looks the one to beat. Adrian Keatley’s colt started off his season with a good second to the progressive Dianthus at Naas, before returning to that track to finish seventh in the Listed Tetrarch Stakes. That effort might seem disappointing at first glance but the form of the race has worked out really well with Brother Bear, Romanised and Hence all winning significant races since.

Magnetic North impressed many with the way he pulled away from his rivals late on at Leopardstown and a mile around this course, with the long straight, should suit.

5:10 NAVAN MEMBERS HANDICAP 1M

Sheila Lavery’s Natty Dresser is of interest in this wide open three-year-old handicap. The son of Dandy Man ran okay off a 162-day break at the Curragh on his previous run and prior to that he has some good form behind Gavin Cromwell’s Princess Yaiza at Dundalk.

The others to note are Queen Rabab and So Enjoy, two of the lesser exposed horses. Slight preference is for the latter mentioned, James Nash’s filly, who ran with plenty of promise on her comeback run at Leopardstown.
